I saw Dr Houck in Montclair circa 2011, I had issues with bartholins glands cysts and cancer cells and I had a constant clear liquid discharge (tmi) near my urethra...I was literally a revolving patient between a gynecologist, Dr Houck and a urologist for months on end. It was a stressful time in my life and I was going through a divorce as well. Additionally, I had Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism. Dr Houck ended up whispering a recommendation of a ”complimentary medicine doctor” to me. OMG what a journey, needless to say she completely missed my diagnosis and now years later after she had known I had bartholins gland cysts, I saw another doctor and finally I requested an mri from that doctor and yep a skenes grand cyst was present. I cannot believe she missed something that with my symptoms was pretty obvious. Anyway I would love to write her personally as she made me feel like I was completely crazy. Interestingly enough her comment of finding a ”complimentary medicine doctor” led me to learn of a doctor, Dr. Lawrence Wilson in AZ which was enlightening in itself. I hope she sees this in an effort that it helps others with the elusive scenes gland cyst and helps to validate patients whose doctors didn't give a full effort to help figure out the actual diagnosis. ~Paige

I am an old patient of Dr. Houck from New Jersey. I miss her SOOOO MUCH. LOVE YOU Doc for saving my life. I am currently under the care of the UMDNJ team who are great but they are NOT you. Just want you to know that you are my SUPER Super Hero!!!!! Bandu sends her love also.

Dr. Karen Houck was an incredibly sweet, patient, warm, and friendly doctor! She was very open to my input, which I very much appreciated. She was easy to speak to as well. She is very caring and a good listener! I felt very comfortable speaking to her and I highly recommend her!

Dr. Karen Houck treated me for advanced Ovarian Cancer in 2008 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. I believe if it was not for her I would not be alive today. She is the best doctor In her knowledge, ability to really listen and educate you on what is going on with your body, has the best bedside manner. I will never forget what she did for me.

Dr.Houck was extremely knowledgable and thorough in her approach. I had a medical condition that required surgery and had never been to hospital for one. But Dr.Houck totally made us feel comfortable and spent enough time explaining the procedure. She did an excellent job with the surgery and I am ailing pretty well now. May life bring you a reflection of care and kindness you have shown to others......Thank you SO much Doctor
