Very good doctor and staff.
Dr Nelson is the Best!He has treated my daughter since she was a baby. She’s now 18 & he’s still treating her!We think he’s great!
Dr Nelson is amazing ! He fixed my strabismus after a year long journey of having an unknown etiology with many trips to different doctors and concerns that this would never go away. He was compassionate during my surgery process and made sure to Explain everything thoroughly so I knew exactly what would be going on as I was alone during the pre op process due to the new covid protocols. His staff at main line surgery were amazing and comforting. If I could give all the stars I would ! AMAZING! traveled 2 hours back and forth to see him. Would recommend everyone near and far.
I don't recommend Dr. Nelson. I am disappointed in my visit to Dr. Nelson. Despite the fact that the doctor wants to look smart and professional, in reality, he made the wrong prescription for my son's glasses. He measured fast and did not pay attention to the details. When I pointed out to him that it was wrong, he just didn't listen to me. He may seem to be good for people who don't understand measurements, but I have a serious concern about his professionalism. As a result, I got wrong prescription for 10 minutes visit and wasted two hundred dollars.
He is a great doctor.. I have been seeing him for years.. he gives great advice!! T.
Just had an appointment with Dr. Nelson for my high functioning autistic 12 year old. Our third visit. Things went downhill fast. 2 years ago we came in for an office visit. Dr. Nelson isn't the most empathetic doctor and I question whether he should be working with kids. So I let him do surgery on my daughter's eye. He was great during the whole surgery thing and getting her calmed down. He was very patient which was surprising. Surgery went well. 2 years years later I brought her back. With all of the covid rules my daughter was very nervous but she tried her best. Her best wasn't good enough for Dr. Nelson. Instead of disinfecting his tools he puts scotch tape on the kids noses which was hard for her to tolerate. He kept raising his voice at her like a drill sergeant. She even did really well with the eye drops but it wasn't good enough for him. He kept yelling at her and rushing her even after I reminded him that she is autistic. He told her that her fear of eyes drops is silly and he didn't have time for all of this. She ran out of the room screaming and crying. I will never return to this place and I will never recommend him to anyone else. This doctor knows his stuff in the operating room but his people skills needs work.
He has been my son's eye doctor since he was < 3 years old. He helped correct my sons lazy eye and provided him with great compassion.
Had surgery with Dr Nelson and couldn’t be more pleased. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Dr Nelson
Dr. Nelson fixed my daughter’s eye which had been previously operated on incorrectly. For that I am very grateful. He is an extremely busy physician who caring when you have a problem. If you are seeking a physician to spend a lot of time with you, he is probably not the right person. He gets to the point and moves on to the next patient.. rarely wait more than 20-30 minutes and go there at least twice a year or more.
If you’re looking for a 5 minute appointment with a side of arrogance and rudeness, this is your doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
