this was back in 2015, but, give credit where credit is due. Dr Pyfer advised me my nearsightedness was too advanced for Lasik, and I ended up getting Lens Implants w him as the eye surgeon. WOW- It took away almost all my nearsightedness. Life changing. This doctor is super knowledgeable without being pompous. You can look up his credentials, he is the real deal. I trusted him with my eyes and you can too.
I had lasik surgery with Dr Pyfer at Wills Eye Hospital 3 months ago. I am extremely pleased with my perfect vision. His assistant Laura walked me through the whole process so so knew exactly what to expect. Highly recommend Dr Pyfer!
I just had my second cataract surgery with both eyes set for distance and I am extremely satisfied. Dr. Pyfer was very professional and understanding and if I could give him a 10 instead of a 5 I would.
My experience with Dr. Pyfer was truly disappointing. I was given information on interocular lenses and was told by Dr. Pfyer that I would only need glasses for tiny print. Dr. Pfyer also told me that he could and did correct a stigmatism during surgery. After paying an additional $3,300 for the interocular lenses, I had to pay another $450 for glasses I wasn't supposed to need and was told at that time that I had a stigmatism that Dr. Pyfer claimed to correct. I called his office several times and once was told that he did my surgery for distance - which is not true - and that he would call me in a few days. I have not heard from Dr. Pyfer. At the point I have no idea why I needed glasses and can only suspect that the prescription for the lenses was wrong or Dr. Pfyer does not tell the truth.

If you have a high deductible insurance policy expect to pay for your procedure in advance. I have never had this experience with a health care provider's office before but was told that's their policy. When I asked them to submit the procedure to the insurance company so that I could see what I would owe I was told that this was not possible. When I inquired as to how they would know what to charge me I was told they would make an estimate. Not wanting to to try to get back any overpayment I easily found another ophthalmologist who's billing was in the traditional method of billing the insurance company first.

Dr. Pyfer did my brother and my sister's laser vision correction surgery and they were absolutely thrilled with their results! I definitely recommend Dr. Pyfer for any vision correction surgery if your focus is getting the best. Five Stars!
Very professional and extremely knowledgeable

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
