List of Mark H. Blecher's Reviews
The 2 stars are a gentleman's rating, and nothing more, because the experience was less than satisfactory. The first visit went well. The tech stephen who did the measurements and photographed the surface of the cornea did his job professionally. He was thorough and explained what he was doing and why. Meeting with Dr. Blecher was also satisfactory despite his bedside manner. He tended toward few words concerning my treatment plan, and what was involved with cataract surgery. These were the high points. It was all downhill from there. At the next visit, where they rechecked the measurements, the tech was rude, and very gruff. He didn't introduce himself or take the time to discuss why and what he was doing. Quite frankly he conveyed the attitude that he didn't like his job very much and that it was really a bother. Again Dr. Bleacher did not communicate well, but he did make it a point to tell me he would be doing the surgery and how great he was at doing the procedure. By this time, red flags began to pop up especially after I was scheduled for surgery and received my pre surgical instructions and medications. From my reading it appeared that what I was heading for was not state of the art. Naturally I sought out a second opinion and met with Dr. Blecher's colleague. The experience was much better and I came away from the visit feeling better about the surgery and the protocols involved. I was then scheduled for one final visit before surgery. It came at the new office that just opened. What a mess that was. Their computer system was not fully operational and I had to reregister. Again there was another measurement which is very necessary. The tech, a female this time was good. She was polite and thorough. Afterward I was to see the Physician. I was assigned to the waiting area where I waited and waited and waited. Then about an hour later, the rude tech previously described called from the end of the hall, " you can go". My response, "what did you say?" Again he shouted, " you can go." He did not address me by name, he did not offer an explanation, he turned and left. I followed only to find an empty office. To say the least I was upset, and considered cancelling the surgery. I did not. Come the day of surgery, I met very briefly with Dr. Blecher, who asked how I felt, and left without further conversation. Eventually I was taken back to the surgical suite. But no Dr. Blecher. Instead, I was met by what turned out to be a surgical Fellow. Without introduction or explanation he proceeded to do the surgery and left. No Blecher in sight. No follow up. N othing. The only person I saw after surgery was the recovery room nurse. Is this what the state of medicine has become? I hope not, because if it has, we are in trouble. From nearly beginning to end, this was an experience that noone should have to endure. In the event someone decides to use the practice, I would recommend you schedule with Dr. Feldman. He is the physician you want to see.
I am revising the review left previously. In that initial review, I was highly critical of Dr. Bleacher, and his staff. In this follow up, I will to the best of my ability to rectify what I posted. In regard to what I said about the tech, I stand by what I said. He was rude and disrespectful. However this should not reflect on the entire Practice. Today I went for my f/u surgical visit, and was given the opportunity to speak with the office manager as well as Dr. Bleacher. Both were very gracious an accommodating. I must admit that in regard to the Physician, I was unfair and mistakenly judgemental. Therefore I wish to revise my comments. The surgery was indeed done by Dr. Beacher which was verified through our discussions. Indeed the results are amazing. Obviously Dr. Bleacher lives up to his reputation, and is very skilled at his craft. Need I say more, probably, but I won't. The results speak for themselves. Dr. Bleacher has earned a rating of 5. Highly recommend.
Professional courteous efficient. I was amazed at the entire experience from first appointment to to eye surgery. It is an experience of perfection.
Phone not answered after being on hold for 20 minutes. Hire enough people to answer the phone!!!!!
Tried calling this office twice but unfortunately calls go to automated message. After waiting for at least 7 minutes both times I decided to go elsewhere. You can have great doctors but if you can't set up an appointment then your useless...
I don’t think 5 stars are sufficient for the near miracle surgery Dr. Mark Blecher did on both my eyes. Not only did I have severe myopia, but cataracts as well. I did my homework and decided to have Dr. Blecher do both my eyes. My vision is almost 20/20, after being legally blind without correction, for many years. His bedside manner is excellent, and his surgical skills and procedures are both superb. If you want the best, see Dr. Blecher! I
I'm an ICU nurse so I know there are risks and possible complications to everything but Dr Blecher is very professional and nice. He has lots of experience and is very honest. I had horrible vision before I met him so I decided to have PRK done. My vision is now perfect and I am so happy I had it done! I also once showed up on the wrong day of my appt (got my days mixed up) and he took me anyways. He told the receptionist, "It's ok, we can fit her in." I was so thankful. He always answered all my questions and I would recommend him to anyone who is considering Lasik or PRK.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
