Dr Savage paid attention to MY symptoms and adjusted treatment, on the spot, for my current condition. He prescribed an old medication that reduced my cath lab visits from 4-6 months to 2 years++ Thank Youi
Dr. Savage is an excellent cardiologist who treated my mother in the last decades of her life. He is an excellent diagnostician and an innovative clinician. He successfully treated issues mom’s prior cardiologist missed. He also has a great bedside manner. He listens and develops an effective treatment plan collaboratively with his patient.
A very nice hospital an staff
Dr. Savage has performed two cardiac caths on me in the past 13 months. He is very thorough, very caring, and extremely courteous and efficient in performing this procedure? I rate him 5 stars in his profession! Nurses, staff, etc. were very caring and efficient! Mike Galbavy, Forked River, NJ
Five years ago, my dad (who was over 70 y.o.) and I have been searching for a good cardiologist, who was specializing in angioplasty. A cardiologist my dad had been seeing told him that he needed a stent placed in one of the major blood vessels. This doctor even attempted to perform a cardiac catheterization (stenting), but was unsuccessful, saying it was impossible... I did an extensive research and found Dr. Savage, who was a director of angioplasty center at Jefferson hospital. I immediately made an appointment with him for my dad. After a battery of blood tests, different ECG-s and stress test, Dr. Savage confirmed the diagnosis and scheduled the cardiac catheterization procedure. The procedure lasted for a few hours, which resulted in successful placement of a stent where it was needed. A big thanks goes to Dr. Savage's staff who were simply wonderful! My dad stayed in the hospital overnight for observation and the next day we took him home. The recovery period lasted for a week. The stenting helped my dad with an overall well-being, as he was able to walk longer distances without being drained, as well as with continuing being active (he took up a swimming). A few years later, my dad needed another angioplasty done on a different vessel, which was done by Dr. Savage. My dad continues going to Dr. Savage for his bi-annual visits, to make sure that his heart is taken care of. So, if you are looking for a great cardiologist, specializing in a cardiac catheterization (stenting), I would highly recommend Dr. Savage to you.
A 5 years ago, my dad needed stenting due to one of his arteries being clogged with plaque. Dad's other cardiologist was unable to perform stenting. Dad made an appointment with Dr. Savage, who had my dad extensively tested (EKGs, blood tests, stress tests), after which he successfully placed a stent, although it was a complicated case. Dr. Savage is an excellent doctor, he has a great bedside manners, he's attentive, thorough and always takes time to listen to your questions and concerns.
Mike Savage has been my cardiologist for years. He heads the catherization lab at Jefferson University Hospital, as well as the angioplasty center. He teaches at the medical school. Last week when I needed a stress test to be cleared for a minor procedure at neighboring Penn Medicine, they called him and he was able to get me in first thing in the morning two days later. He knew my history and was quickly able to determine that what a new cardiologist thought was an abnormal EKG, was for me, in fact, quite normal. (I'm an alien.) He was able to advise Penn Med to put me back on track. Dr. Savage is a warm, modest man who treat everyone with respect and excellent bedside manner. Although a few years my junior, he doesn't seem to have aged. Perhaps his sandy hair is lighter than before, but his eyes still shine with humanity and curiosity about life and health. I have recommended Michael to everyone who has needed to see a cardiologist. They all reported their strong satisfaction with his approach to them as well as the high quality of care. It takes a special dedication to remain in a hospital practice for an entire career when the riches of private practice beckon. Hippocrates had Michael Savage in mind when he drafted his famous oath. He is at the pinnacle of medical excellence.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
