Nemours Children's Health System's Online Review Report Card

I’ve been bringing my daughters to this office since my first daughter was born 7 years ago. I’ve noticed over the last couple of years the service has gotten bad but after our visit last month it’s worst. It starts with the front desk staff… they just stare you down as you walk in making you feel unwelcome. They’re rude in personover the phone. I’m not sure if it’s because the last few appointments have been in the afternoon and everyone is tired but this is a children’s office everyone needs to “pep it up”. Even the person checking my daughters weight and blood pressure was so curt and barely said 2 words to us. This office was so different years ago.

The scheduling for this place is awful. The schedulers act as if they are the care professionals and want to ask patient history instead of doing actual scheduling. They look for reasons to tell you they cant do their job. They bounce you from department to department and ultimately tell you they cant do anything for you and give you a list of other providers. Completely unprofessional and I will never use them again.

My wife was just there today with my baby for one year visit. The doctor was great very patient answer all my questions. My baby received three shot and some blood drawn of course the baby scare and not cooperate when shot are taken the nurse ask my wife to hold her steady. But she was very resistant so the nurse hold the baby hand very hard that leave a nail mark on my baby hand. I just want to say it very unprofessional for nurse that had to deal with kid every day having long nails while they at work. I has been five hour pass and the mark is still there

DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO BRYN MAWR ER WHICH IS APPARENTLY STAFFED BY NEMOURS SPECIALTY CARE DOCTORS The doctors are not Bryn Mawr doctors and are not participating providers for BCBS which likely means that they are not participating with any insurance and so their bills will not be covered by your insurance even though Bryn Mawr hospital is a participating provider. They will not tell you that little fact nor will they disclose that the doctors Nemours Specialty Care charge extremely greedy prices. You will be expected to pay full price extremely unreasonable charges despite having insurance and going to a facility that is a participating provider for the insurance. They are billing $8162 for a 90 minute emergency appendectomy a surgical procedure for which Medicare pays about $650 and the average private insurance reimbursement in the area is $1200. In addition that same doctor the surgeon is also billing $1035 for medical care during that 90 minutes. Yes she somehow provided $9200 worth of medical care in the 2 hours she was actually at the hospital. Then there is the pediatric ER doctor who is billing $1401 Im not even sure that I actually met this person? Nemours has so far refused to negotiate a more reasonable price they tell you they will do a chart review then ignore you for 2 months. When you call back they tell you again that they will do a chart review and cannot explain why it was not done when you called before.Yet Im sure Nemours will go on about how much they care about kids yes they care so much they are willing to bankrupt the kid’s parents. Nice. I would give 0 stars but that wasnt a choice.

All 5 of my children have gone here and they have always gave us a1 service and they have been extremely easy to contact during this pandemic and do their best to provide care to their ability given the circumstances

We are relatively new to this office as we moved recently. Im not pleased with the office nor the Doctor. Every time I call I am on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes and they have recorded my phone number incorrectly and failed to change it twice. The Doctor while nice constantly talks over us and has failed to follow through on plans several times requiring further follow up from me. I would weather the inconvenience if the care was good but she simply doesnt listen. Were looking elsewhere.

I had great service there as far as I can remember as a kid but their phone operators are horrendous. Just trying to get a copy of my records there took ages.

The physicians and nurses are great. The lactation nurse was wonderful. They are very knowledgeable and take their time to answer all questions. I gave two stars because of the receptionists. I have had the worst experiences there. 1. I received a phone call about my babys insurance. When I explained to them that I was unable to retrieve that info because I was at work the representative said who doesnt bring their purse to work. That response was so unprofessional and rude. 2. When I called to schedule an appointment that the pediatrician told me to schedule the receptionist tried to argue me down saying that the doctor was misinformed and that I wasnt supposed to schedule the appointment. When I ask her to check with the doctor she ended up scheduling the appointment. 3. When I had to reschedule that appointment the receptionist was really trying to argue me down about when I could schedule the appointment and what they are not going to do.I should have known better than to choose them when a few of the Jefferson physicians from the postpartum department suggested CHOP. That tells you something. Well I took that advice. Called CHOP immediately...wait time on the phone was short and the receptionist was so welcoming understanding and informative. All of the things you would want a staff to be at a place that cares for babies and children. I hope this review is taken seriously. Thanks.

Receptionist working front desk is very rude. My son has been a patient there since he was born. Hell be 12 in February. I made a appointment Tuesday and was told to come in Thursday. I had to reschedule and I called back later that day and she said I have to call the day before the day I want the appointment. I called today to get seen Friday since today is Thursday. Well now she tells me I have to call the day on i want the appointment. I never heard of this and never had a problem in the past. She doesnt say goodbye or anything she just hangs up. No one forced to work that job. Because its obviously the job she doesnt like if she was this ignorant both times I called. Besides her the drs are great. I come from Northeast Philly to have my son seen there. Take out the 1 rude receptionist and I give it 5 stars.
