I really tried everything to not leave this review but for the safety of other patients, I feel I must speak up. I even tried to just share my concerns with patient advocacy directly but it didn’t work out. I am so grateful to Jefferson Health for being the neurology practice that truly listens to patients and treats them with dignity, respect, humanity, and care.<br><br>I was a patient 6 years ago at Penn Neurology. It was the first place I went to because I listened to my body and I knew I had some neurological going on. However, Dr. Quigley and her attending physician at the time downplayed all my symptoms. The office refused to schedule me further because they did not believe me when I told them I needed help.<br><br>However, years later, the amazing doctors at Jefferson did in fact discover the very real, and serious issue, all while doing so with expertise and kindness. I had been lied to by Penn neurology, who said I was wrong. I was right and now I speak on behalf of all the other patients out there that get downplayed. The patients that are made to feel like they shouldn’t listen to their own bodies. Their own instincts. Penn’s prestige sometimes clouds its judgement. And of course there are probably some really talented and brilliant doctors at this practice. But my experience with my care was not good and I was misled into thinking my issue wasn’t real when it was.<br><br>Everyone out there, consider going to Jefferson Neurology if you’d like to be treated with kindness. Briefly discussed check-in procedures and got called in less then 10 minutes; had a really smooth experience regarding my MRI brain scan and went over my options if I felt in need of any change of plans....

Everyone there were so nice. They made you feel comfortable. The doctors are very attentive. They listened to you and talked to you, while explaining everything. This is a great center.

The staff is very rude.

Recently saw Dr. Ogo-Oluwa Onifade, MD as well as Dr. Kaiser, and I was super impressed! We can’t forget Dr. Baer as well. Amazing neuro docs who genuinely want to support their patients healthcare journey(s).

The staff is very rude. One time I checked in and waited over an hour because the front desk never actually checked me in. She barely paid attention and had me take a seat.<br><br>I have had a very rude administrator take care of my previous medical records. I’ve done nothing but what she’s asked and she continues with attitude. Upon talking to her the first time on the phone she grumbled everything to me.<br><br>Finally, my doctor is on a mission to prove I do not have epilepsy when previous reports and past doctors have said otherwise. I don’t understand this place and will probably leave.

This is insane!<br>Waiting in the waiting rooms for abt 2hrs then had a quick check then send to another room started another round of waiting. Abt another 2 hrs. Nobody gave any updates not sure what's going on. Shall we stay or we leave? Nobody know.<br>Can not believe it!

Everyone, including strangers, were friendly

Had 9 seizures in 3 months. Got diagnosed with epilepsy. Put on medication. The epilepsy was due to craniotomy, and cranioplaste I had in 2013. After being prescribed the medicine, haven’t heard squat from her in over a year. Just last week was called by another Dr from this practice and told the Dr I had left, and she was taking her patients. Didn’t leave a name or number. I needed a refill of my epilepsy medication, and had to go too my pcp doc, because I had no idea who to contact. Not happy with this place at all.

I’d give it less if I could but let me explain my “less than a star rating.” This rating has come after almost a year of begging and battling with doctors here. We were referred here for a second opinion because, “they’re the specialists,” but they don’t listen and don’t care. First, had to continually beg them to “treat the patient & symptoms,” not the CT scan to finally agree to surgery & actually discover the problem with a shunt as we’d been telling them. Now some callous resident makes med changes & revokes a license and then leaves but NO ONE else will take ownership of care. Despite seeing an attending twice with the resident, “nope I can’t help you not my patient.” Apparently they forget the law that an attending has to oversee and sign off on all patient care that a resident provides. And don’t even get me started with their phone system and patient portal, I’ve had “people getting back to me for a month.” All I’m asking for is guidance & general concern for the patient but you won’t find it there. Save your time, effort & money!
