I had a very poor experience at this clinic with Dr. Michael Fung. He was over an hour late to both appointments despite calling the front desk ahead to confirm he was on time. Worse, I joined the patient portal where I left urgent messages regarding an allergic reaction to a new medication and received no response for days, only to be told after I called that the portal "hasn't worked in forever." The medical care itself felt rushed and dismissive. The doctor seemed indifferent to my extreme eye pain and offered only generic solutions rather than looking for a root cause. Between the technical failures and the lack of empathy, I cannot recommend this provider.

Showed up to the appointment having already filled out the forms, submitted my insurance information, sent photos of my insurance card only for them to tell me "we wish we knew sooner but we dont take this insurance and you can't self pay". I knew they didnt take my insurance but not being able to self pay is wrong. This was purely greed as they were not able to charge what they wanted and thought they could just send me on my way to another hospital. I told them I had blurry double vision and they did not care. They knew what they were doing and didnt care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Flamendorf and had a surgical procedure performed. He provided me with all benefits, risks and what to expect in the process. Very informative and took time to answer all questions and concerns. Staff and health care providers were all professional and pleasant. I know have great vision and feel very fortunate to have had such excellent care?
Went to see Dr. Flamendorf for a general check-up and the experience overall was great. Friendly staff, quick turn around and the doctor took his time to address my concerns. Will continue with him as my general ophthalmologist.
I was recommended to this practice by someone who sees one of the other doctors. but I saw Dr Fung, this review is only about him. I originally went to Dr Fung to get a general eye exam because I am not young and also to get new prescriptions. At first he seemed really nice. He didn't fit the contact lenses the normal way with samples and just wrote something down. I assumed this was because he was an ophthalmologist and had more information. Turned out the prescription was wrong (and they do have samples there that they can use, so maybe he was lazy). When I went to get the prescription fixed, he told me that being able to see street signs was a "preference" and that I would be legal to drive with them even though I reiterated that I couldn't see street signs walking down the street. After he used the word "preference" several times, I kept my cool but told him I felt judged. I told him I felt judged several times but he kept using that word "preference" while grudgingly trying to help me. I mentioned my occupation in context and then he became verbally abusive telling me all these stereotypes about my occupation. At this point, I again kept my cool and he didn't stop the verbal abuse until I mentioned that my husband is also a physician and then he became tolerable. I realize that he is a surgeon, but I wouldn't let anyone that arrogant near my eyes with a knife especially someone who thinks that the solution for him making a mistake is to become verbally abusive. I wish I had read the reviews here sooner because it seems that other people were also given an incorrect prescription.
Was referred after an ER visit. From the get go made it very clear that o should go to wills ey which I’ve gone to in the past and was passed from Dr to Dr . Thank you for making me not feel safe or worth your time, sorry for your inconvenience
Very glad that I switched to this opthalmic practice. The front office staff are friendly and helpful, and they answer the phone when you call. I was impressed with the assistants and Dr. Fung. They answered all my questions and explained their procedures. The waiting time was very reasonable for the tests performed.
Dr. Fung was recommended by my primary care physician and other people I trust as I was looking for a referral after my ophthalmologist closed his practice. First appointment, he had no bedside manner and wrote a script for eye glasses and contacts that were incorrect. When I asked for my old script to be rewritten, I was told I had to come back in and pay an extra $50 for a recheck. I couldn't afford that after shelling out a ton of money for the new glasses and contacts. I waited a year, scheduled another annual exam, asked to see a new provider, and was pressured by front desk staff to schedule with Dr. Fung again. I did and it was a horrible mistake. He blamed me for the incorrect script telling me that I squinted during the first exam (I don't know how he would remember that given that it was a year ago and if I was squinting, then he should have told me to stop), talked down to me, and stated that he wouldn't write for my old script. His bedside manner is awful! I know a lot of people like him and he is respected per my primary care provider, but I had an awful experience. He talked down to me, acted like I know nothing about my body and eyes, and only gave me my script when I told him I was going to transfer care to another practice. He never apologized for his mistake. Apologizing is an easy thing to do. If you decide to meet with him, then I encourage you to appeal to his narcissism because that's the only way to get through the appointment and receive competent care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
