Sylvia Hsu Md's Online Review Report Card

I saw Dr. Hsu Last year at Temple Hospital location, the office room was so dirty and dusty. I wait about 30 Minutes, she came to the room never introduce herself to me and her first question for me was ** What can I do for you? she was not pleasant at all and after 2 minutes she left the room and never came back, she sent me 2 students asking me some questions and the doctor never came back to see me?? I was very angry and unhappy with her action/ treatment. To be a professional in your job, your life and with your people around you something you can always learn and add to your life instead of being brutal and rude. I will never recommended Dr. Hsu to anyone I care about.

Addressed all my concerns, was thorough, and very thoughtful.

I was in my worst time 4 years ago I went to see this “dermatologist “ I had blisters all over my body ,face,mouth and scalp she saw me told me that If I dint get retuximab infusions that I was going to die ( I was scared )at the time I did not have insurance I was working on it in a meanwhile I needed something to relieve my pain she prescribed some prednisone and I asked if there was something like a cream for my skin blisters or my mouth she said nothing just go to the store and buy Vaseline months later another dermatologist prescribed me with oral solutions and creams I just don’t understand why she never told me, I dint know i was not an expert that’s the reason why I think she is the worst dermatologist I’ve ever seen If you need to see a dermatologist go to a different one she will not help you she thinks she knows everything but she doesn’t , she did not care that I was in pain .

Very poor bedside manners during the whole visit, and gave incorrect information on medications and illness. Visit was not helpful at all, and had to go see another dermatologist in the area.

Dr. Hsu, is awesome! I had a rash for months and went to some of Houston's best dermatologist, that did not accept my insurance. My insurance is accepted at Baylor and I tried her and was rash free with one month!

I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Hsu, would have been nice if I could have actually SEEN her during my appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early as advised, waited 30 minutes before being shown into another waiting room. During that time I struck up a conversation with another patient of Dr. Hsu's, whose appointment was 30 minutes after mine, and she got called in first. I waited another 30 minutes, still no sign of the doctor, and the nurse treated me like I was crazy for being upset about this. I expected better of Baylor. When I had a skin condition that my regular doctor couldn't diagnose right away, he called in Dr. Hsu to take a look. Dr. Hsu came right in, looked and diagnosed within minutes. Prescribed treatment and I was fixed right up! I switched my main dermatologist to Dr. Hsu. Dr. Hsu is thorough, HIGHLY competent, ON TIME and FAST. I recommend you tell her your level of comfort when she is checking you for annual dermatology / skin cancer check. If you don't say anything, she is 'modest' with you; if you tell her to be thorough because you fear cancer more than you are uncomfortable with a doctor looking at you, she will take the lead and be a bit more thorough. Women, don't forget to take off any nail polish before you go for a check up. If you have a question, be ready to ask because she is off if you don't have one ready. She is conscious of her patients' time so be ready. Although she may seem in a hurry, if you ask a question, she will answer thoroughly and completely. I have been a patient of Dr. Hsu for over 10 years. She was the first dermatologist to accurately assess my plaque psoriasis and prescribe a medication that actually worked. She is a great doctor, very easy to talk with, and very thorough!
