Sylvia Hsu's Online Review Report Card

Wonderful experience. Dr HSU immediately knew the right medication to prescribe for my rare skin condition. I was finally given relief after I was searching for over 3 years with other doctors. She is also readily available for video conference visits and email correspondence. (I live in Pittsburgh) I previously had seen 3 dermatologists in UPMC, and prescribed 5 different medications with no results. My condition was worse after seeing one of the three UPMC dermatologists. When going to the ER for excuruciating pain from my skin condition, they had me wait 4 hours in an examination room to be told "keep taking your prescribed medication; it should get better". My friend recommended trying the Temple University dermatology department. I do not regret the trip from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. Dr Hsu is knowledge and always available to answer any of my questions. My skin condition is now manageable, and I can live a normal life routine again.

Worst experience ever. I had the same experience just like the bad reviews state. Treats her patients like specimens, doesn’t talk to you or answer questions and then leaves you with a student. Jeez. So unprofessional. Never going back there.

I saw Dr. Hsu Last year at Temple Hospital location, the office room was so dirty and dusty. I wait about 30 Minutes, she came to the room never introduce herself to me and her first question for me was ** What can I do for you? she was not pleasant at all and after 2 minutes she left the room and never came back, she sent me 2 students asking me some questions and the doctor never came back to see me?? I was very angry and unhappy with her action/ treatment. To be a professional in your job, your life and with your people around you something you can always learn and add to your life instead of being brutal and rude. I will never recommended Dr. Hsu to anyone I care about.

Would never go see this doctor again. She sent in a student. I had to state my appointment was with her. When she finally came in with students not one person washed their hands. To busy asking about my insurance. Worst experience ever. Forces you to have students doctor on you and walks out of room Also talks like you aren't in the rooom.

I was in my worst time 4 years ago I went to see this “dermatologist “ I had blisters all over my body ,face,mouth and scalp she saw me told me that If I dint get retuximab infusions that I was going to die ( I was scared )at the time I did not have insurance I was working on it in a meanwhile I needed something to relieve my pain she prescribed some prednisone and I asked if there was something like a cream for my skin blisters or my mouth she said nothing just go to the store and buy Vaseline months later another dermatologist prescribed me with oral solutions and creams I just don’t understand why she never told me, I dint know i was not an expert that’s the reason why I think she is the worst dermatologist I’ve ever seen If you need to see a dermatologist go to a different one she will not help you she thinks she knows everything but she doesn’t , she did not care that I was in pain .

Very poor bedside manners during the whole visit, and gave incorrect information on medications and illness. Visit was not helpful at all, and had to go see another dermatologist in the area.
