How can any doctor say that any patient is "a waste of their time?" My son had an appointment with her and he forgot his coat and walked backed in the room to get it and she was telling the the doctors she was training that he was a "waste of her time". When my son said something to her she never even apologized to him. I thought that all patients matter. Apparently she deals with most patients that have ALS. But, that is not the only thing she deals with. She also is an expert with MS, Headache, Migraine Disorders and and a few other things. But, my sons case (severe migraine's caused from a severe Tramatic Brain Injury at the age of 15) was a "waste of her time." Then her office should not of schedule him an appointment with her. She is an expert in her field but, does she really care about her patience's?

Dr. Patterson only specializes in treating patients with ASL. She should make that known to staff who schedule patients for her so that her "time will not be wasted". My husband had an appointment with her, when he walked back to get his jacket he heard her say that guy "was a waste of my time." Wonderful doctor. Don't become a doctor for the money or prestige, become a doctor because you actually care about people. And if that is all you know how to treat maybe you shouldn't have the title of neurologist. If anything you wasted his time.

Cares a LOT and will amaze even the most jaded patient. Really specific practice though, you might need to have a decent idea of your diagnosis first.

Words can not describe this woman and her passion for her patients. I owe so much to her. She is a Dr. whom truly cares about her patients and will give you the time and respect so many other specialists do not. She is truly one of a kind.
