List of Todd E. Chertow's Reviews
Great caring doctor
Met with Dr Chertow after having a terrible negative experience with Dr Stache from Rothman Institute. Dr Chertow is very professional. He did a thorough exam and history. He is down to earth and has an excellent bedside manner. He is understanding and listens! I have been a Nurse 16 years not many Doctors take the time to properly exam and listen to patients like Dr Chertow. He is make me feel at ease I feel I am in excellent hands and highly recommend him.
Always late for his appointments with me. Does not listen. Hurt me several times examining my broken wrist. Told me I wasn't doing therapy when cast came off, when I was. Belittle the staff. Was late for every appointment with me. The list goes on. Do your research first. I had to go to him because my regular Dr. Was not available. Do yourself a big favor.
I had both knees replaced by Dr. Chertow. The first one failed just under three years. I had a revision and I am waiting to heal and then the other one will be revised. They were both installed crooked with uneven gaps. Dr. Chertow said he could repair them with a minor operation two surgeons disagreed. Maybe he should not do knee replacement surgery.
I saw him in his new office and everything is so much better. All of these negative reviews are based on his old unfriendly office staff.
Dr. Todd Chertow is an outstanding surgeon. I'm fully recovered from total hip replacement and back to exercising and playing tennis. Todd Chertow has a great bedside manner that is often missing in a surgeon. Additionally, his office staff is superb and always helpful. I highly recommend choosing Dr. Todd Chertow for your next surgery.
I was referred to Dr. Chertow from my primary, needless to say he is the worst. Looked at my films for 2 seconds decided I needed a steroid shot. Claimed it was Tendonitis of the shoulder. Of course I left there in pain as I had been in pain for 3 weeks beofre finally giving in and going to the dr. I called and asked if he would prescribe something for the pain (had to leave 3 messages beofre anyone even called me back), and I was told, "he isn't giving you anything, take tylenol(I have been living off of tylenol and motrin) and get a MRI. When I went to get the MRI the radiologist said, " I don't want to step on anyones toes, but this sounds like a dsic issue to me not your shoulder. I said thanks and had my MRI and left. I called Dr, Chertow and asked if they could call once the results were in and they refused said I have to come in for them. I had my daughter law take my results to another dr to read and low and behold it is a herniated disc. Super concerned about having to go back to Dr. Chertow, because I am sure he will treat me as if I am a pill seeking addict, (haven't taken anything besides OTC) and he will be no help. AVOID THIS DOCTOR. HE IS THE WORST.
Dr. Chertow ruined my collegiate athletic career. He never took the time to thoroughly review my MRI when I was having foot pain. He took one look at it, told me it was a stress fracture, and put me in a boot for 10 weeks. I've never been the same since then, being he told me to stay off of it completely. It turns out it WAS NOT a stress fracture, so it took another year to figure out what was really going on. If he had took even a few more minutes instead of trying to rush me out of the appointment with a diagnosis, maybe I would be back to the elite athlete I used to be. Dr. Chertow essentially ruined my life and athletic career, and I would sue if realized earlier.
I was referred to Dr Chertow by another surgeon in his practice. I felt as if he had diagnosed me before he even entered the exam room: his examination of my shoulder was cursory at best, and his review of my films was similarly brief. His entire manner conveyed disinterest. He disagreed with the initial radiologist's diagnosis. I have no way of knowing if he is correct or not, but in response to my concerns about how and when to resume conditioning for training to fence (my chosen sport), as well as yoga, he curtly replied, "If it hurts, don't do it." As a crowning touch, he left the door to the room open when he exited, despite the fact that I was in a gown and still needed to change. While this last act sounds petty, in fact it conveyed to me his lack of respect for me as a person (and a woman), and seemed extremely unprofessional. I cannot speak to his skills as a surgeon, but I do not feel that I can honestly recommend him based on my experience with him.
I was pushed to Dr. Chertow from another physician I was seeing at this office. I went in to see him before my surgery. Dr. Chertow doesn't take the appropriate amount of time you with to explain anything. His bedside manner is terrible. He does not seem to care to much about whether or not his patients are satisfied or at ease. I had a few questions I wanted to ask but he didn't give me a change to ask anything, he basically rushed out of the room, didn't ask me if I had any questions or concerns. I definitely would not give him any recommendations.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
