Wonderful physician. Took his time with my case. Was very caring, thoroughly reviewed my medical history and went through all imaging with me. The appointment felt very collaborative. Provides excellent care.

I am not sure where to begin with this. I was sent to this office through the VA for an evaluation over a year ago and had absolutely 0 issues. Then, I start getting billed from them for this service. Since I was referred by the VA I should have been billed, especially not a year later and out of the blue. Since I didn't pay it, I was referred to a collections company who then told me to call the office. When I did, after getting the phone number I asked about the services and if it was through the VA. The lady that answered the phone said that she couldn't tell and then I stated that the only thing I could think of was that it was through the VA and that I wasn't going to be paying for it. She then said that "it looks like we billed you because it was kicked back from the VA." So since it was through the VA she then agreed to send the bill back to them. I asked for a confirmation number or a letter or an email so I can prove this conversation when it happens again and she said that they don't do that and that I just had to trust them. Bottom line is that I now have to wait and hope that collections isn't going to keep calling me. I will be more than happy to update this review after I see that this has been rectified. However, as of right now I can't recommend a service that has so horribly dropped the ball as far as billing goes. Follow up, called the patient advocacy number that was requested yesterday and left a voice-mail. Today I got a call back and absolutely 0 was accomplished. I stated multiple times that I was sent to them by the VA for a consultative exam as I was applying for a disability rating. She then asked who my insurance was. I again stated it was through the VA and I didn't provide insurance information for that reason. She seemed incredibly surprised and couldn't grasp the idea of this. She ended it by saying she would research it. Why this wasn't researched before I have no idea. I'm not asking for anything special, this is something that they agree to do with the VA.

Dr. Shappiro is outstanding!!! I have c.o.p.d. and was in the hospital for 8 days, and he was there everyday to check on me and made sure I was completely feeling better before I was discharged.

First visit with Dr. Shapiro today. Found him very intelligent, patient and well versed on my medical background. He proceeded cautiously educated me about what he speculated what was happening with my lungs and the follow-up tests he needed to gain a better assessment. Left feeling assured that I was in great hands and had a solid plan to pursue.
