Absolutely horrific experience. Wouldn’t go back to her if my life depended on it. Thankfully I was properly treated at a major medical center which provided proper diagnosis, confirmatory testing, treatment options, and resolution. She was incredibly ill-prepared, did not review records or imaging sent 6-8 weeks prior, downright nasty, and I fear for anyone in her care. Stay far away. Significantly better surgeons and care providers out there.

Dr Ali explained the procedure well, walking me through the imaging and describing the various anatomical features, the lesion, and the surgical plan. She answered questions and invited me to ask more. Other surgeons reviewed the work and they commented on the quality of the technical work and the appropriateness of the intervention. Unfortunately the work resulted in the partial paralysis of my arm accompanied by great pain. This was not a result of surgical error. It was a known risk which she had disclosed. Her office staff, in particular the NP who handles the day to day patient contact, was harried, overstretched, lacking in compassion, and disorganized. I wasn't introduced to pain management in a timely manner. I couldnt communicate effectively with the NP because she seemed hurried or anxious. It was a truly awful experience. Luckily the NP has moved on and I have returned to Dr Ali for the restoration surgery. The new NP is a delight to work with.

My husband had surgery with Dr. Ali last week. She never checked in with him after surgery. She did not come to the recovery room even when knowing he was in extreme pain. She told him he had a 3% change of reherniation, and she told me he had greater than 50% chance on the phone after surgery. She never told him this or any information. It took him over four months to get in for an appointment. He has called and emailed the office multiple times with no response, including today (one week post op where he is in more pain than he was before surgery). Please try to find another hospital and practitioner.
