Dr. mammen has terrible bedside manners. We have never had an appointment that we haven't had to wait on him for at least an hour. One time, we waited on him for two hours and his nursing staff was offering us refreshments! Never once did he ever apologize, you're actually lucky if he communicates anything to you during your appointment. Thankfully, today was our last appointment with this Doctor. Save your frustrations and seek out a different doctor!

Dr Mammen is an excellent ophthalmologist!! There’s not enough words to say how grateful we are for what he has done for my husbands eye infection. Upmc should give him a promotion!!!

Very skilled wonderful eye doctor. Did bilateral cataract surgery with wonderful results. Very pleasant , but more importantly well skilled surgeon. So thankful he operated on my eyes.

Cataract surgery for right eye on a Friday. Scheduled to see Dr. Mammen on the next day, Saturday, at Eye Center, Lathrop St, Pittsburgh, PA ata 11:40 a.m. according to discharge papers I had in my purse. Upon arrival the doors to the clinic were open but not a security person nor any doctor or receptionist on the 7th floor. Everything was silent and vacated. I was in a panic to have my previous day surgery examined. After waiting 10 minutes shouting "hello" no one appeared. Finally as I got on elevator to leave, a lab tech questioned me as to why I was upset. He said he could find my doctor for me. As Dr Mammen walked from a long corridor he chastised me for not being there for the scheduled 8:00 a, m appointed time. Pulled out my discharge papers to show 11:40 a.m. schedule. He just said follow me. It was a horrible experience and he was not patient engaging. Next 3 weeks I had left eye cataract done by Mammen scheduled 8:30 a.m. As diabetic, waited 6 hours due to delay.
