I had been struggling for years to be heard as a Black woman about my concerns. So very glad to have been recommended Dr. Smith. In under a year, she was able to pinpoint and create a course of action to my situation. I was able to move through the process in my time and on my terms. She explained every step of the way! I am grateful to have finally been understood and feeling better

The worst!! As a black female I was not heard by my own peer. I would not recommend Dr. Smith.

I made an appointment and was told the next available was two months later. After a month they called and said she will be off that day and rescheduled me to two months later! How callous to not make your schedule firm and put patients off for months! She doesn’t care!

Takes FOREVER to get back to you with test results, prescriptions etc. I had to make MULTIPLE phone calls over the course of days to get what I needed. Extremely frustrating. Made me feel like my care wasn’t a priority.

I had a very poor experience when I was seen for a miscarriage. The first thing she said when she walked into the room was, “Why are you crying?” I was just told that the baby that I thought I was carrying for 10 weeks was actually twins that had stopped developing at 5 weeks. I do not feel that was an appropriate response to the trauma I was experiencing. I left her practice shortly after.

Kind and knowledgeable.

She delivered my first baby and did my D&C surgery. I thought she might be less experienced because she is young, but I was totally wrong. She is very understanding, cared my pain and listened carefully about my concerns despite of my language barrier. She did nice job both at delivery and D&C surgery. I don't like one OB in her group and may not go back to the group. But I definitely recommend her!

Dr. Smith took the time to explain the procedure and to follow up with me after hours to answer additional questions I had. She also took the time to include my family and was mindful of how the procedure impacted them. She provided fabulous aftercare to not only me, but again she demonstrated an interest in how my family was dealing with the recovery. She is an excellent doctor and I would recommend her to anyone.

No bedside manner whatsoever. She was distant and unemotional, almost robot-like. She didn't ask me if I had any questions or concerns or if there was anything I wanted to discuss. She rushed through the exam in a few minutes, as though she couldn't wait to get me out of the exam room. I was very upset, as I had researched UPMC GYN doctors thoroughly after being forced to choose a UPMC GYN after my husband's employer switched from Highmark, a much better insurance and one which actually gave us choices in healthcare rather than the UPMC monopoly.
