Upmc Magee-Womens Hospital's Online Review Report Card

I have used Magee since 08 which is when I birthed my preemie daughter. NICU was amazing and so was my after care. Fast forward to now, I’ve recently had to have three surgery. Their team of highly skilled doctors found the issues when others dismissed and sent me home! The staff are also the most friendly people I’ve encountered in a hospital setting. I had not one but multiple doctors stop by and ask me about my condition and if I understood the approach they were taking. The hospital is an hour drive and I’ll choose to take the ride in order to receive proper care at this hospital !!!!! Thanks to everyone at Magee for making my surgery experiences the best they could be.

I have nothing but great reviews for the staff,nurses and doctors at Magee. Everyone was so compassionate. My daughter had a rare infection and lost the baby. Dr Tiffany was amazing, so kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. The nurses were wonderful. I didn't know there were so many non profit services for bereavement! Thank you to all who were there helping Heather and Cody. I hope the staff sees this post.

I told my daughter to go there tonight for a second opinion because she's worried she has an ectopic pregnancy. They treated her so terribly that it hurts my heart that I encouraged her to go there. She overheard the doctor making fun of her in the hallway. They didn't test her for a single thing. They belittled her and humiliated her. I'm totally blown away. A decade ago they saved my life when I was misdiagnosed at a different hospital and I have always held them to the highest regards. Literally heart broken. Do not go here ladies. We have enough of the world to fight- we don't need to go to a WOMEN'S hospital to be humiliated. We all deserve dignity. I'm so sorry for anyone that I have ever encouraged to go here. My daughter is still so scared and on her hour drive home to me without a single answer or test. You should be ashamed of yourself.

My son was born July 25 at Magees and had to be treated with morphine to address withdrawal symptoms due to suboxen maintenance that his mother was being treated for while pregnant...after my son was successfully weened off and was 2 days clean of the morphine, the hospital needlessly insisted on putting him back on the morphine...when I made it clear that I was against it and tried to put a stop to it, they denied me and his mother access to our son and had me removed from the grounds with no explanation...what they're doing is illegal..

I can’t thank the wonderful staff of Magee enough after a big scare over the weekend with an episode of bleeding at 34 weeks pregnant and placenta previa. My husband and I were so unsure and terrified of what was going to happen and if our baby boy would be okay. Every single person we encountered from techs to nurses, to housekeeping to doctors, were so incredibly compassionate, kind, and informative every step of the way. I wish I had everyone’s name to thank them all individually, but the list is just too long. We’re scheduled for our C section on August 13th and I would never get my care anywhere else after such a positive experience with Magee.

My delivery was amazing, but our NICU stay has been horrible. Doctors that don’t care and want to constantly remind you of the “code of conduct” when you get upset during a phone call. The lack of compassion is ridiculous in the physicians that are supposed to be “caring” for my child. And filing complaints and voicing concerns gets you no where.

School not a hospital I would say, only few experienced providers left, I have delivered my baby here recently and epidural injection has been done by a student even though I didn’t give my permission, in pain I repeatedly called for older anesthesiologist I have seen there, but they have ignored, and missed first two times and were able to find the right spot on the third try and made a puncture, after delivering my baby I couldn’t lift up my head because of severe pain, I thought I have became a handicapped person and completely regretted that I came here not WestPen, Not recommend this place at all.
