Luigi Spagnolini's Online Review Report Card

I haven't seen Dr. S more than a handful of times in the 15 + years I've gone here but when I do he's very personable. Getting an appt. is very easy, even though their office is quite busy. I like the PAs and the nurses and would recommend to others.

If I could give less than one star It would be negative! I took my mother to This Dr. he wouldn’t even look at her leg which there was obviously something wrong he claimed it was lymphedema and told her to take extra strength Tylenol he was very ignorant about it so I took her to Lehigh Valley that weekend and they admitted her and diagnosed her with cancer and she has since had her leg amputated and I believe it wouldn’t have gone this far had he had paid attention and did some tests or at least a biopsy. The cancer was traveling up her leg into her lymph nodes and she would’ve been dead right now if I followed his medical advice.

Dr. Spagnolini is very patient and helpful in many ways. He never makes you feel rushed and listens patiently. He has helped my husband and myself very much over the 15 years having him as our family doctor.

I first met Dr. Spagnolini during a stay in the hospital. He was the doctor on the floor the one day when I have an m.s. flare-up. He was really nice and made me feel better about the situation, all confirmed by then neurologist.When my actually primary care doctor retired, I sought him out as my new physician. Still fairly nice when I see him but it's clear he's overworked, and with the Geisinger Pittston office constantly getting new patients I never see him, mostly his p.a. if I'm lucky.And that's the problem. I like the dr and he has not yet failed me. We had one issue with rx meds, but that was a minor thing. I'd wait weeks for him to sign paperwork, but all except one time was due to the process the faxes are given to the dr (fax goes to main office, faxed to pittston, pittston scans, goes to dr, can take 2-3 weeks before the dr gets it, per an office employee there) and no openings. Their staff has actually turned me away for legit emergencies.And that's why three stars. He's a good physician, but damn that office is insanely overbooked and makes his ability to be a good doctor pretty rough. Due to the office and how it's set up, I'd suggest you go elsewhere, but as a patient I have no problems with him directly.

As before, I'm not not happy with the way tells everyone they don't prescribe anything that people they should start seeking a pschyatris, but back to my previous statements. I'm thinking about changing sets one's that are "educated" and seriously takes their occupation of listening too their patients Instead of his "quality of professional " or lack of

I had originally seen Dr. Spagnolini for prolonged stomach discomfort and indigestion. After talking for a few minutes and some basic over the clothes tests, I was told I had severe anxiety and depression. My current anti-anxiety medication was doubled, and I was put on a daily mood stabilizer, as well as an antacid. I was also directed to start seeing a psychiatrist, a colleague of Dr. Spagnolini's. I thought this was all a bit much considering I felt everything was under control, but when I resisted, Dr. Spagnolini gave me a lecture on how he believed my first marriage failed because of "depression and anxiety", and that if I loved my current wife and child, I would follow his instructions, take the medication, and see the psychiatrist. All this in a 30 minute initial visit.After a few months, his office would no longer fill the medications I was prescribed for various reasons. No on was able to give me a straight answer as to why. The conversations always eneded with, "I don't know why this is happening, but its taken care of now, and we've put notes in your file so this doesn't happen again." There were no notes.The psychiatrist I was sent to was abysmal. Wait times in excess of 2 hours (this is not a joke or an elaboration), and a money up front payment system where the fee charged was an estimated fee that changed every visit.I felt and continue to feel as though I was being taken advantage of. I stopped seeing the psychiatrist and weened myself off of the medication that was prescribed. At my next visit I had told the nurse I had stopped taking my medication and stopped seeing the psychiatirst. Dr. Spagnolini came into the room, reviewed my notes, and said everything looked good. There was no mention of me stopping my medications or no longer seeing the psychiatrist, and I was sent on my way.There are multiple other instances in which this practice has revealed it is not about quality care, but patient quantity, but I think the summary of my care above illustrates my experience with Geisinger and Dr. Spaglonini.Dr. Spagnolini is the type of physician that makes people distrust physicians.I highly recommend against having Dr Spagnolini as your primary care physician, or associating with him and his practice.

The worst doctor on this planet. He does not listen, has to Google answers and has NO clue on what he is prescribing. God forbid if you need a referral because he won't give you one for a specialist. He is silly, goofy and does NOT wash his hands between patients. Never orders BW when your diabetic or high cholesterol, and if your a cancer patient, he won't give you a referral. Please STAY AWAY from this jokester. He doesn't listen to heart or lungs and if he does, how can you hear anything through a thick sweater. Run far and fast.
