List of Dr. Chirag Shah's Reviews
I was referred to Dr. Shah about 6 years ago now for an emergency detached retina. He also found a detached retina in my other eye. He successfully re-attached the retinas in both eyes in two separate surgeries and I have had no problems since! I loved having an ophthalmologist who explained the procedures in digestible ways I understood which made me feel calm and better prepared. His attention to detail and caring approach are unmatched, and I could not recommend a better doctor for others with retina issues.
As always, my latest experience with Dr. Shah was professional and pleasant. From check in to check out, I couldn't be happier with the care given.
Where do I begin? Let me first say that despite my experience with this doctor I am very thankful that he and his staff were able to make time and perform the emergency surgery needed to prevent me from going blind in one eye on such short notice. The surgery went well and I am looking forward to being able to see again. I don’t take any of this lightly and I think it is important to share my experience from beginning to end good, bad or indifferent. I also want to say that at no point during any of the office visits including the location I had surgery at or the location I had my post op and follow up appointments at did I have any issues with the office staff. Each member of the office staff aside from Dr. Shah himself was friendly and professional. With that said both of my follow up appointments since my surgery have been the most unpleasant and unprofessional experiences I have ever had with a Doctor. Considering his extensive education and experience in his field I am appalled at the way I was treated by Dr. Shah. I felt as if Dr. Shah had no interest in my concerns about returning to work much sooner than anticipated with one functioning eye and if anything made me feel like there was something wrong with me as a person for even considering the need for more time to recover. I felt as if I was just another number and I truly felt as if I was bothering Dr. Shah with my concerns about being able to return to work and perform my job at the highest level possible. Dr. Shah even went as far as adding notes in my file stating that I was “Aggressive and threatening about wanting more time off of work” Dr. Shah also stated that it was not wise to threaten the surgeon who was trying to help me from going blind. Dr. Shah’s notes are unequivocally false and at no point was I aggressive and or made any threats towards Dr. Shah or any of his office staff for that matter. I take these accusations very seriously and most certainly do not appreciate Dr. Shah making me sound like some ungrateful monster of a person. I take my career very seriously and I want to make sure that when I return to work I am able to do my job as expected. I was fortunate enough to get an emergency referral for another specialist in my area and I could not have asked for a better experience. My new doctor respected my feelings about this whole situation and agreed that it would be wise to extend my leave from work and allow me more time to recover. Words cannot express how relieved I am that I can finally take the time needed to recover and I do not have to return to Dr. Shah’s office ever again.

I am very pleased with Dr Shah. His calm and professional manner was very calming, made my surgery less concerning.
Dr. Shah is an excellent retina doctor. He has taken very good care of my eyes over the years. Dr. Shah is wonderful, compassionate and considerate. You feel at ease and confident when you leave his office
I first met with Dr. Shah 10 years ago in an emergency visit with a detached retina. He successfully re-attached the retina quickly and perfectly. Since then, he has used laser treatments to secure both of my retinas so that they cannot detach. He closely monitors how my eyes are doing, including other issues such as "floaters" and cataracts. Dr. Shah has a wonderful manner. I feel he truly cares about my eyes and eyesight. He explains medical matters completely and understandably. I highly recommend Dr. Shah to anyone with retinal or related issues.
EXCELLENT,OUTSTANDING , VERY CARING , PLEASANT,POLITE,KIND AND ALWAYS EXPLAINS PROPER TREATMENTS IN A SIMPLE LANGUAGE .I WILL ALWAYS HAVE HIM AS MY DOCTOR
I was referred to Dr. Shah by my optometrist after experiencing some loss of peripheral vision. Dr. Shah diagnosed me with detached retinas in both eyes (in various stages), and if I didn't get surgery in the very near future to repair this condition, I risked losing my vision completely. It was a terrifying diagnosis, but Dr. Shah and his office alleviated my stress by patiently answering all of my post-appointment emails and calls to ensure I fully understood the diagnosis and surgery process. I went through with the surgeries approximately 1 month apart, to allow the first eye to heal and vision to restore before proceeding with the second. Both of my surgeries were a success and Dr. Shah was able to restore full peripheral vision in both eyes! I feel very fortunate that I was referred to Dr. Shah. He is not only a great surgeon, but has a wonderfully kind manner that is hard to find. If anyone has to go through something like this, there is no one I could recommend more highly.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
