Had all the tests done and never received any results for a good amount of money
Never have I felt so belittled than I did today. My appointment was for a surgery consult…not my mental health which by the way I already pay people to take care of that. Only when I cried and mentioned that I know more people that Ended their lives over dismissal of pain than getting it treated in the winter or at all did I feel the least bit taken seriously. How can you trust someone to invade your body to fix something when they were so ignorant? No thanks.
Dr Terefenko is highly recommended. glad I made the right choice !
Dr. Terefenko was a life saver for me. A left knee replacement done 5 years ago was NEVER right. I only got to 88 degrees and took it because the pain was gone. The knee was swollen the entire time and after experiencing a great reduction in movement I returned to the doctor. I was told that I had scar tissue and there was not much he could do about it because it would grow back. I put myself into physical therapy and they got me up into the low 80 degrees. That didn't last long..... I had difficulty getting into the front and back seat of a car, I couldn't ride some rides at disney because I couldn't bend my knee enough to get in them . I started getting a limp and finally decided that I needed to do something permanent about it if I wanted my life back. Dr. Terefenko was recommended to me by another doctor in our area that I love and I made an appointment. Kevin is the most thorough doctor I have ever been too......at times, I thought it was a little overboard. My left knee revision (taking out the old knee and putting in the new) was not going to be easy but it had to be done. My surgery was scheduled and Dr. T wanted to do ONE MORE TEST !!!! REALLY !!! He took a few cc's out of my left knee and send it in for testing. The first culture showed a staph infection that had probably been there for years and answered a lot of questions as to why my knee continued to get worse and worse. It was terrible news for me but very good news that would direct the path I had to go on if I wanted my knee back. Kevin explained EVERYTHING and after some of my own research I found him to be "spot on". I had to get rid of the staph infection before any surgery could be performed. If he had not taken that final test, he would have done a left knee revision and the staph infection would have had a field day with the one knee....getting me no where again. With his guidance and recommendations, I am nearing my fifth week of recovery following a "stage one knee revision" at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. I am now at 87 degree mobility and moving forward. I cannot thank Dr. Terefenko and his staff enough for their professionalism and expertise. I cannot recommend him more highly. I was sorry he was not able to be the doctor to do the revision but I needed an infectious disease team working on me and he didn't have one. Don't think twice about hiring this surgeon for any orthopedic needs. He will be behind schedule........but he will spend whatever amount of time you need from him. And isn't that the kind of doctor we all want.
Dr. Terefenko did a perfect job in two surgeries, both knee replacements. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a joint replacement. Dr. Terefenko is caring, capable, and conscientious. His office is 47 miles from my home, but I gladly traveled that distance.
I see a rheumatologist, but because of pervasive knee pain, I had an MRI which showed significant cartilage loss. My doctor suggested I see a surgeon, and thought Dr. Terefenko was a good choice. My visit was today, and I left there in tears. After two hours of meeting first his nurse, who never took the time to introduce herself until I asked her name, his intern who was incredibly abrasive and then the doctor who proceeded to berate the care I had already received: a cortisone shot that had no impact and that I had pain at the injection site for several days afterwards - it was obviously administered incorrectly, and if he gave me a shot I would have no pain; a dosage of meds that he would only prescribe for a 70 year old with kidney disease (I'm 48) and telling me that because of a number of autoimmune conditions I have I most likely have a genetic mutation that would cause me to die from COVID, I will not be returning. If you want a compassionate doctor, this is not your guy!!!
I came away very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of the entire staff. I would highly recommend Dr Terefenko for any and all knee problems.
I always have a great experience when I attend my doctor appointments at Arthritis & Joint Replacement Ctr. The staff is very courteous and efficient. Any questions I ask of the doctors, during my appointment, are always answered thoroughly. I have had 2 hip replacements and a knee replacement by AJRC. I absolutely place my trust in Dr. Terefenko and associates.
Simply the best environment, staff, and Surgeon, Dr. Terefenko
Always a great experience when I have an appointment with Dr Terefenko the wait time is always short and everyone is very friendly. The time spent with the Doctor is informative and my problem is always answered so I understand it clearly. I have recommended him to several people and will continue to so.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
