We had very bad experiences going to this doctor. It seemed that money was all she cared about.

I’ve been a patient of this doctor for many years. When I started, I was extremely happy with my care and the office staff. Over the course of my visits, I’ve noticed a steady decline in her attentiveness as a provider and attention to detail on the part of the office. One of my major issues is the way billing and insurance is handled. Over multiple visits, I have noticed charges for services that I never knew were being conducted or had nothing to do with the purpose of the visit. This mostly seemed to happen during wellness visits for annual physicals. I never expressed any concerns of illness or issues on the visits, but only made the appointment because she expected a yearly health exam. I particularly paid attention to everything being done and there would always be some add on test, or add on as part of a test, that my insurance company would consider not part of the wellness visit. When I would check into it, the test she conducted had nothing to do with a covered wellness visit, our conversation, or my health history. I took issue with this because these extras always appeared to be bill padding or something I should have been told was not part of a typical wellness visit, but was tailored to me and a health issue. I could possibly understand some of it, if she rarely saw me, but this doctor keeps tabs on my conditions enough that the wellness extras I was being charged for were unnecessary. In addition to this, I once had a test that was on a day that I didn’t have a wellness visit. The office, or the physician, messed up with their procedures for getting reimbursed by the insurance company and attempted to pass the cost on to me. I challenged the cost with my insurance company and the office ended up having to cover their mistake and eat the cost. I have also noticed issues with slow responses or no responses when contacted about general questions about my medical care or insurance. As far as the physician and her care, I’ve spoken with her about how I feel and a need to investigate my health further for what appear (to me) to be undiagnosed health concerns. She seems to have a set amount of tests she gives. When nothing is diagnosed within that parameter of tests, she does nothing and continues to only treat what she did diagnose. It’s like she doesn’t know what to do or she does nothing. I end up leaving the office with no plan of treatment for one of the reasons I visited. I am completely ignored with no discussion about a referral or what could be done. I have also had instances in which I have had to make repeat visits because medications given on a first visit, for colds or infections, were not strong enough. To be honest, I don’t know what has happened with this physician and her office, but the decline in services is enough to encourage me to locate another physician.

I was a patient at her office for 13 years. Two years ago I went in for a flu shot. I had already spoke with my insurance carrier and they said it would be no charge because it is a preventative service. Well, Dr. Martin staff tried to charge me the $25 copay, but I refused. I then started getting $25 bills every month until I emailed and told her I was not paying it because it was completely covered by insurance. I checked my patient record on the portal and realized she billed for "abnormal weight gain." She also stated that she gave me literature to read. First off, when I went to the appointment I was 4 months pregnant! Why would I see a doctor about weight gain. Second, I didn't even see Dr. Martin! The nurse gave me the vaccine. Fast forward to last year: I went back for the flu shot. The male at the desk immediately said " you do know that you have to pay the $25 right." I paid this time because I just wanted this over with. I get the vaccine from the nurse. Within the next week I check my chart again and she billed for "allergic rhinitis to tree pollen." It was cold and in October! She had to bill for that so the insurance would cover it. I am no longer a patient because she has lied about service she didn't provide to me. I guess it's a way to get more money. Shame! I know have a new PCH and I love her!

I don't recommend Dr. Elizabeth Martin. She is unprofessional and always let her patients wait for her for more than 20mins. She has bad attitude and arrogant, sometimes she is impatient. I had unhappy experiences.

I had gone to numerous PCP's in Columbus Ga trying to find one that would help me with my obesity problem. I was recommend to Dr Martin from someone on the Fort Benning Area Guide. She has been a God's send to me! I have lost 116 pounds in a year and feel fantastic! She always makes sure I stay on top of my check ups when it comes to my blood work and other routine work ups. She has changed my life! I highly recommend her!

This is the worst care I have ever received in my 50+ years of life. As I read all the comments below, I am shocked at how many people had the same experiences I did. If you do give her a chance be sure to check up on everywhere she refers you. Do not assume just because she makes the arrangements and directs you to go to anywhere that she checked to see if you are covered by your insurance. She set me up at an out of network facility and then blamed me saying I should have called to make sure she had sent me to the right place ... that ended up costing me over $700 on a procedure I should have had for FREE. She took no responsibility. Since 2010 I have had to receive care for some serious conditions and never had to follow up on my doctors referrals or appointments they set up. Being new to Columbus, I expected the same sort of care. I was wrong. Read everything below, I can second just about everything you see. Beware.

OMG! Not sure if it is the "office manager" who calls the shots or Dr. Martin here. This office is like a dysfunction three-ring circus! Now, I have been trying for TWO consecutive weeks to get meds refilled for BP and water retention. Two weeks later? STILL WAITING! The OM told me that I would just have to WAIT until next week (7 days) for an appointment to get a refill. The medication clonodine is NOT supposed to be stopped suddenly. OM said if I have a MEDICAL EMERGENCY to go an URGENT CARE CLINIC for treatment?? Nice job Dr. Martin! Even if you were to fire me as a patient YOU STILL NEED TO GIVE ME 30 DAYS of meds to carry me over until I find a NEW PROVIDER!! Your OM is calling shots for you that you need to be made aware of if you read this. I NEVER SIGNED A RELEASE -- only threatened to FIND another physician and your OM felt empowered enough to disregard me WITHOUT ME SIGNING A RELEASE. Additionally, you refuse to refill medication I have been taking for YEARS and should not stop abruptly. Smart patient care here that could land me in the hospital. Guess you will flip the bill since your office cannot follow through with what they said they were going to do TWICE?

I've never in my whole life had blood drawn as much as Dr.Martin orders. I've never had to pay the high cost of it ever before out of pocket refused refills on medication that I have been on for years until I came in for guess what...blood work! No change in my recent blood work and I feel good! So what's the problem? ! I know more blood work!!

She diagnosed me with having COPD. I was panicked I never smoked or worked around areas that would give me COPD. I bought all the medicine she ordered ($150). I flew home to my regular doctors to see a specialist as I could not get one here in Columbus unless she referred me. The doctor there stated emphatically that I did not have COPD at all. When I confronted her about the diagnosis she stated that it was based on my having frequent/recurring bronchitis (which I told her was not true) then she told me it was based on previous x-rays I had taken (which was untrue I have only lived here 2 years). Then she said she just didn't know. Then I had an EGK in her office and she told me that I had a heart attack and needed an electrocardiogram (of course done in her office). Also wait times are 3-4 hours even if your appointment is at 0830 and you are the first one there. Staff takes the patients they are friendly with first. Always on the computer. Sh
