When I admitted my husband the receptionist didn’t question if we were married. When we were seen at triage the nurses didn’t question if we were married. The nurse who settled us in the room didn’t question if we were married. Dr. Katherine Mahoney-Tesoriero, however, first asked my husband, who was in terrible pain from an ear infection, “Who is this person with you?” (Referring to me) and then when my husband told her we were married she said “Is this person [again referring to me] allowed to hear this information?”….THIS PERSON? This person. You might as well have said “that fag**t” Do you speak to every care giver and loved one like that? Do you ask heterosexual couples the same questions? I doubt it. Your bedside manner was horrid, your attitude was apathetic and your overall demeanor was completely dismissive. You told my husband “there’s nothing wrong with you” and followed up with “your white blood cell count is a little high”. You were out the door and on your way to be rude to some other helpless patients before we could even ask a question. Thanks for genuinely not giving a crap and making it obvious you feel superior to most people. Makes since considering your obvious bias towards gay men. Some people become doctors to heal, others, like yourself, for the power and ability to stand in judgement over others. My assumption about you is that you are the latter. I would never recommend this hospital or it’s staff to anyone, specifically gay men and women.
