List of Joanne Calabrese's Reviews
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Calabrese. She is very timely, I never have to wait in the waiting room after my appointment time. I have had her personally called me on a Saturday with test results, texted me at 9 PM with answers to questions and anytime I need a prescription refilled she puts it into the system very promptly. She is very personable, listens to what you have to say and is genuinely interested in your overall well-being. Just love her!
Great Family doctor...
Don't miss any appt because they will send a letter that you can't come anymore even if you never got the letter it was sent back to there office they tell you to find another doctor regardless if your on meds that your not supposed to just stop taking so good luck getting a prescription obviously the bottom dollar is worth more than someone's health
Office staff is beyond wonderful...if I ask them to fax a report to another doctor...it’s Done! Appointments are 99% on time...only if emergency comes up do you have a wait longer than 5/10 minutes...the entire Dr. Calabrese and her staff are wonderful. Betty Ann has been there since I started going to Dr. Calabrese, she always has a smile and is so dependable....when she tells you she will send or fax a report...it’s Done! All the girls in the office are friendly and knowledgeable!
I've been seeing Dr. Calabrese for many years. She truly listens and talks TO you rather than AT you. She has the ability of empathizing, which helps a patient feel comfortable telling her some problems that I may have withheld from some doctors I've seen in the past. She doesn't make light of or ignore my medical problems, and has gone the extra mile many times to try and help me. That's what we ask of a doctor--to help us in any way possible with the options available to them. She does this.
I disagree with some of her theories on why she will not prescribe certain medicines. I was previously on Premarain Cream from a former Doctor and she would not renew prescription as she felt women do good without it. I went to a Specialist who deals with older women and issues and he told me I need to be on that medication until I am 90 and to run away from any Doctor whom makes such statements. I developed Hot flashes and again No medication. I had to see a specialist to prescribed medication to help me. Going through Menopause I put weight on she always asks if I exercise. (No I sit on my A++ all day) I asked about medication that would help with weight loss. A Big No again. I decided after 2 years with her I am going to leave her practice. I need a Doctor whom is more open to helping me. I just feel like I waste my time with her. Last, St. Lukes moved her office to the Center of Tamaqua, what a mistake. I hate going there . It is so noisy with all the traffic from 309. I do not like parking there with all the rift raft walking around the parking lot.-it's also right by the liquor store which is not a very good place to have a Medical practice. What were they thinking.
SHES VERY KIND AND CARING
Dr calabrese is very very nice. She is my dads Dr. Always has taken good care of him..
Wonderfull, caring individual who takes extra time to make sure you are doing good. Always on time, never overbooked! Doctor and staff go the extra mile to help a patient out.
I would recommend her to anyone. She is a good doctor and takes very good care of my family. I have found her to be very compassionate and understaning.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
