List of Paul E. Caimano's Reviews
Most in-depth and helpful eye exam I’ve ever had. High professional and I recommend Dr. Caimano to anyone who has special vision care needs.
I paid for an eye exam. During the exam, they used a computer tool to correct my vision to 20/20 for exam purposes, so they knew what my prescription would be. The doctor stated that my vision could easily be corrected to 20/20 with glasses. He stated that my prescription has changed, so I need new glasses. At the end of the exam, I was given a list of local eye glass stores, who could examine my eyes and fit me for glasses, but not a prescription for eye glasses. I paid for an eye exam, and now I have to pay someone else, for a another exam in order to get glasses. I even called when I got home, to confirm that I didn't accidently leave my prescription at the office. Lauren from his office, confirmed that Dr. Caimano doesn't give prescriptions for eye glasses after an exam. I'd have to go somewhere else for an eye exam and glasses. I NEVER heard of a doctor who examines patients, but won't give them a prescription for treatment. She said that he doesn't give prescriptions, because they do not have an optometrist on staff. What? If you give me a prescription, I can order glasses anywhere. Sorry that you can't make money on selling glasses, but those glasses are a medical appliance to me. That's just poor!
Very timely, no waiting for hours. Excellent
Best eye doc in town.
I appreciated being given detailed answers to my questions. I felt included in my care. I am grateful for Dr. Caimano and his staff for helping me keep my eyesight as good as it is for as long as possible. Excellent experience all around!
Dr Caimano's staff is just plain RUDE! The office manager has a smart mouth along with the girl who checks people in. When I sign to refuse not wanting my eyes dilated at check in, I'm not sure what part the office manager didn't understand since my appt was for dry eyes. I was also told by the office Mgr that even if I had my eyes checked I still would not get a dry eye script because my insurance would not pay for it. (I already knew my Obamacare doesn't pay for most prescriptions & had no problem with that). She also said that I was not the Dr so I wasn't going to tell her what was going to be done. I'm not sure why they wasted my time when I discussed all this with 2 people PRIOR to the appointment. I then told her just to cancel my appt & asked for for my money back because I was going to leave & she threw a fit & told me to get out of their office & told the office staff that I was combative & to mark my folder as "Do not ever schedule again". She was PSYCHO!
I credit Dr. Caimano with possibly saving my life. I had gone to the local ER the night before seeing him because a "veil" had come down in my eye. The hospital ran some blood tests and discharged me with advice to call their staff opthalmologist in the morning for an appointment in case it was possibly a torn retina. They assured me it was NOT a stroke of any kind based solely on the bloodwork. I called Dr. Caimano the first thing the next morning because my husband is a patient of his and I had seen him once myself several years ago. After testing, he explained that bloodwork was insufficient for a diagnosis of this kind and told me I had a branch retinal artery occlusion (basically a blood clot in my eye also termed an "eye stroke"). He told me to take a baby aspirin and head to the hospital again while he called them to demand they do a CT scan and MRI. After the CT scan I was transferred to a larger hospital that confirmed the eye stroke as well as high blood pressure and high triglycerides and a meningioma tumor. Had I not gone to Dr. Caimano, or had he not stressed the importance of what he saw, I may have had a full stroke and not be here today. I highly recommend him!
I was a new patient, and I called my insurance to see if Dr. Caimano was in my network, after listening to a menu and picking prompts I finally spoke to someone who knew very little English. So I called Dr. Caimano's staff, not only did the girl look up my insurance information and tell me I was in network. She also told me with my yearly diabetic visit, the insurance would cover the cost of my copay. So I wouldn't be charged anything for my visit. Very knowledgeable staff, knew more than my own insurance company.
Wonderful Dr and staff! My family and I have been going to him for several years. He is so easy to talk to and answers all of our questions. Would highly recommend him.
My review of Dr. Caimano is not favorable. It is also an opinion of others I know. I went to him for an exam and my ins. was charged. I was then referred to a specialist. I saw the specialist and went back to Dr. C for another test. My ins. was again charged. I then went to get my "written prescription" for my eyeglasses. I was then charged an additional $30 for them to write that down. After I complained, his office girl "Jolene" called me today and berated me for complaining. NEVER AGAIN!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
