Not comfortable discussing Dr. T's religion or political views during my office visit. I felt he just plugged and played my diagnostics. He didn't make me feel confident in his decisions. I choose to see the nurse practitioner over him.
My son was really sick, we were not sure with what. We called the office to get him seen as a new patient explaining what was going on. The got him in that day, labs done and he was admitted to hospital that early evening. Thank you to Dr. Tambouratzis realizing the severity of my son and also calling at 10pm that night just to check on him. They definitely care and I will be switching my PCP to him.
I think Dr T. is very caring, takes his time with you and has taken good care of me. I am in my 60s, have diabetes, and have had a few awful experiences with Doctors, he is a breath of fresh air. I understand there are always issues which upset us but I have not experienced anything negative.
Dr. Tambouritzis was supremely arrogant, rude, and unhelpful. He yelled at me at my first appointment for using medicine as it’s instructions (and several other doctors) said to use it, as well as purposely prescribing insulin in such low quantities that my insurance wouldn’t cover refills. I found him and his PA to be grating, unprofessional, and at times downright combative to talk too. I’d rather figure out how to synthesis my own insulin than ever go to this joke of a doctor again.
Looked straight at my skin cancer and called it "eczema". Triamcinolone was prescribed for skin cancer. What a joke. Typical VA doctor. "Get out of my space".
My first visit with this doctor was spent telling me all about himself - where he went to school, places he's visited, his religion, his wife and kids, and his health. When I said something about myself, he quickly turned the conversation back to him. He's done very little as far as helping me. He says he's very knowledgeable about diabetes and treating it. Get this - he didn't address mine for One year and 8 months!!! 'So, how's your sugar?' One more thing - he gets uncomfortably close. Time to get a new doctor.
Tambouratzis is incompetent. He treated my blood pressure for over a year; proclaimed it normal and well controlled, but when I had a nonstop nose bleed for over three weeks, referred me to a non-VA doctor for cauterization. That doctor found that my blood pressure was 190/168, I was hemorrhaging nasally, and sent me to the hospital immediately as he feared imminent death by stroke or heart attack due to FATAL hypertension. Tambouratsis then suggested reading The Grain Brain. Incompetent???
This is by far the worst Dr. I have ever encountered. He spent most of my appointment time complaining about his workload vs. treating veterans seeking medical care. Every time I asked him a question, he would interrupt me or go off into left field one on of his tangents. Also, multitasking is out the window with this guy. I was once again interrupted mid sentence and walk me out to the waiting room and asked me to have a seat in the waiting area. I was trying to ask him a question when he was typing and he become upset. This a Dr. the VA feels is qualified to treat our veterans.
Dr. T has been greatly helpful with me in my battle with diabetes. He addresses all my concerns and makes sure I understand the information I receive. He encouraged me to stop smoking and I did. I feel he listens to me and takes time to address any questions or concerns I may have. He sets me up with screenings, makes sure I have all my supplies and encourages me to continue a healthy life style. I am completely satisfied with my care under his supervision.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
