The scheduler/greeter at the front desk greets me by my name when I enter the office. She's very friendly and offers me a mask if needed. I sat down for barely 2-3 minutes when the nurse opens the door to let me into the examining area. Dr. Shaffer walks by and greets my by name. The nurse ushers me into the exam room and as she is taking my vitals she engages me in pleasant conversations. Dr. Shaffer comes in 2-3 minutes after she leaves and he's already reviewed my chart and comes in with a smile to congratulate me on the continued improvement of my sight after cataract surgery. It was all very professional and very pleasant! I am very pleased with this office... and it is always very clean & sterile.

Young Dr. Brian Shafer is an excellent ophthalmologist who knows his craft. He will refer you to a more-experienced colleague when he sees the need, as he did with me. I was whisked thru the entire visit in less than one hour, start-to-finish, including a fifteen minute wait for my pupils to dilate. When you consider all that was done, that was exceptionally quick. [In the past, the same processes have taken in excess of two hours!]. I guess the secret is to have the first appointment in the morning or the first appointment after their lunch hour (which is typically 1 pm [or 1300 hrs]). I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Shafer!

I saw Dr. Shafer at Chester County Eye Care - I went in for Lasik, and after our consultation, he recommended PRK, a slightly different procedure with the same results. I cannot emphasize how glad I am that I went to Dr. Shafer. Beyond being a master of his craft, Dr. Shafer has the heart of a teacher, making sure that I fully understood why he made the recommendation, what was happening and what to expect throughout the process. He was so communicative and supportive, making me feel comfortable during the procedure and checking in on me during recovery. I felt supported and comfortable throughout every step. And at the end of the process, I can see! The whole thing went SO SMOOTHLY. Dr Shafer made getting my eyes lasered easy! Every interaction I had with Dr. Shafer, the office, and the team was a positive experience, which is so important when trusting others with your eyes! I just went in for my 6 month post-op and cannot believe how great the results are - I often forget that I ever couldn’t see and that I went through this procedure. My only regret is not going to Dr. Shafer for Lasik sooner! Thank you, Dr Shafer and Chester County Eye Care! Ya'll are a credit to the field :)

He took the time to discuss the options available to me and the differences amongst those options. Answered my questions and provided his email in case I had additional questions. The appointment was relaxed and not rushed. Highly recommend as he made you feel like you mattered and your time was as valuable as his.
