Traveled 40 minutes here after moving with my newborn just to be turned away because I brought the baby with me. Staff was absolutely no help and had no sympathy for a new mom who watches her baby 24/7. Switching practices now all together after being a patient for 7 years

If your a single mom with young children and do not have a support system/babysitter please don't waste your time with this place! I went in for my appointment and had to bring my 8 year old with me because he couldnt stay home alone... OBVIOUSLY... I go to speak with a shorthaired blonde lady with glasses at the first desk and she was the rudest receptionist I've ever dealt with! She didnt care at all about the fact that I'd taken a lyft to get there and I didnt have anyone else to help watch him... She told me that he couldn't be inside and that he needed to go back outside and wait for me in the parking lot... at the same time I look over to see the waiting area and there was about 20 empty chairs and only 1 patient sitting over there. You mean to tell me that my 8 year old sitting inside your empty waiting room so he can SAFELY wait for his mother is a problem?. Worst part is that they know my IUD birth control is past due to be taken out and that I'm having negative side effects due to it and they still told me I needed to reschedule. They dont care about their patients. Simple as that!

Very pleasant, intelligent and knowledgeable. Dr. Akins seems up to date on research. procedures and medications. She was happy to answer questions, and explain her recommendations. I did not feel rushed at all, and will go back to her in the future. Her staff was very friendly and helpful.

New to the area, I had my first appointment with Dr. Akins. I left my appointment knowing I chose the right Doctor. Dr. Akins showed interest in what I had to say, listened and responded to my questions. I have every confidence in this doctor. The staff of this office were professional and friendly, as was Dr. Akins.

I have been a patient of Dr. Akins for over 20 years. She is one of the most caring, thorough and talented Ob-Gyn doctors I know. She always takes the time to talk to me without making me feel rushed.

Dr. Akins is an excellent Doctor. She is very kind to her patient. She is very patient and spends enough time with you and explain in detail. Sharon, Dr. Akins' nurse is also very kind and professional. My wife and I strongly recommend Dr. Akins.

Dr Jen delivered my third baby via c section. She is so kind and understanding! Put me at ease and best of all helped my squirmish husband make it through as well!

She's good at explaining things and she makes me feel comfortable. She's very tactful. However, she advised me to go through surgery (she'd be my surgeon) when other GYNs are telling me not to do it. Her assistant nurse has no tact. I had breast cancer several years ago, but the nurse has implied that I could not fully recover.

Dr Akins has a wonderful bedside manner. She is very knowledgable and has helped me a great deal.

I would start with her optimistic talk and she really gives only good hopes. Every visit with her made me comfortable and confident throughout my pregnancy. Waiting time is little more since she takes the time with each of her patient and answers to all their questions while between this time other doctors might have covered 2/3 patients. Adding her nurse assistance is also equally good.
