Wow- what a difference. Wonderful staff, and amazing results in an extremely professional atmosphere. Dr. Simkovich is a miracle worker-after 3 years of mainstream medicine treating a TBI/concussion, my husband finally got his life back. Non-invasive. No drugs. Just results. Thank you Dr. Simkovich!
Dr. Simkovich literally changed my husbands life. He had a TBI 30 years ago and lacked many emotional and physical feelings. After seeing 12 specialists nobody seemed to know how to help. Heard an ad for simkovich and booked a consult and treatment. He now is living a whole new life of emotions and feelings thanks to Dr.Simkovich. In the intake (free) he was able to quickly identify how his cranial bones were misaligned and the benefits of the cranial movement therapy that Dr. Simkovich has pioneered. There is then a 2-5 day intensive treatment where you go in for a few hours for several treatments a day. He works by moving the bones in place on the outside of the head and face and inside the mouth. He is the owner and the only Practitioner in the office so you know you are getting top of the line care. They are not networked with any insurance and out 4 day treatment was about 3k but they have a discount if paid in cash (we didnt). ALL of the staff are so nice and helpful. You feel very welcomed there. They remember your name even weeks between visits. And the Dr....he has the best jokes around. It's like getting treatment and a show. But seriously he listens carefully, explains everything, and has a good memory (noticed how my husbands eyes looked better 3 weeks between visits). If you have had some kind of head trauma and dont feel right, go to Simkovich for a consultation, there's nothing to lose and an improved quality of life to gain.
I 1000% Recommend Dr Simkovich for post concussion symptoms. My daughter suffered several concussions and the paralysis from her migraines was the scariest to see. She was treated in 2022 and only needed a few “tune-ups” since the initial treatment to keep her on track. This treatment technique has been the life changing experience she so needed to have the happy, productive future she deserves. Staff if ALL so friendly and helpful. Dr. Simkovich is welcoming, easy to talk to and funny.
“But insurance doesn’t cover it and that’s a lot of money to pay for a treatment.” Is this where you are? Let this concern go! Allow me to share. As a person who can now claim “senior” status, I had a fainting episode in my kitchen in May 2024. I passed out from standing position to slamming my head on a very hard ceramic tile floor. A night in the hospital & a few ice packs later, there were no explanations..only a goose-egg, followed by a bare patch on my head to commemorate the occasion. In the following weeks, I developed almost constant migraines, sleeplessness, facial pain, nerve pain in several of my teeth, tinnitus/head noise and nausea. My friend gave me Dr. Simkovich’s name and shared with me, how much he had helped her young son who had sustained a concussion. When I first saw Dr. Simkovich, he did an exam & announced that I had previously had a head injury. Nothing came to mind..until our drive home. As we tried to recall, we suddenly remembered: There was the truck-driver in the early 1980’s who ran a red light & broad-sided me. Oh yeah, there was the other car accident where we were hit from behind..and Finally..how could we forget the trip to Cedarpoint where we were both assaulted by that body-jerking roller coaster! Btw, two of those 3 events required spine surgery…yes, Dr. Simkovich hit the “previously head injured” nail on the head! After recently completing Dr. Simkovich’s unique treatment protocol and follow-up treatments, I SWEAR by him! Almost all of my concussion symptomology is completely gone. Truly, insurance should cover his highly effective and statistically-proven treatment. But even if it does not, it is worth making the financial & time commitment for yourself or your loved one. If you have received a concussion (or more) or suffer from excruciating migraines, don’t walk…RUN to Dr. Simkovich!!!
I came to see Dr. Simkovich 8 years after being diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. This horrible condition had affected every aspect of my life — work, play, sleep, driving, social gatherings, etc. I was coping for 8 years only through careful managing of sound (ear plugs), light (so many hats and sunglasses), taking frequent breaks during work (good for anyone, but I had always been able to power through work days), way too much naproxen, and avoiding a lot of things I used to love: listening to music, reading, socializing with family & friends. That's not really living. I was definitely skeptical about cranial movement, mostly because I didn't see *anyone* else doing this type of treatment. My doctors hadn't heard of it (strangely, they hadn't recommended vision therapy either, which I've also found helpful). But a friend had met someone whom Dr. Simkovich had helped, and I decided what the heck, after 8 years is there a better way to spend money if there's ANY chance I can get better? I won't lie: in my particular case the healing has come slowly, and after each round of treatments (I've had 3 rounds of 3-4 days each over the past year) it has taken me a while to get back to where I was before that round. (I don't know if Dr. S would agree, but I liken the recovery from the therapy to a mild concussion in reverse.) Again, this is my experience only, and I understand that most others get back to normal much sooner. So these are some of the changes in my life: I no longer dissolve into tears when there's a sudden loud sound next to me, I don't have horrible headaches after trying to attend a family gathering, I can listen to music, I can drive on a sunny day without getting migraines, I don't have a background level of irritation when I've had too much computer work or music. In short, my sensitivity to sound and light has diminished tremendously — and most important, those horrible headaches have all but disappeared. Every month there seems to be more improvement, and I'm so grateful for Dr. S and his amazing practice. I never was one of those people who thought that traveling for medical reasons made sense, so initially I thought why should I travel to Pittsburgh for this? Also I think I was discouraged by all my visits to PCP, neurology, ENT, OT, etc. *No one* helped me in all those 8 years, except for the nurse who advised to take frequent breaks. But I remember telling my PCP that I had this thought that since my concussion was caused by something physical, that something physical (surgery?? I don't know what) should have been able to fix my condition. And I was right. I just didn't know anyone was doing that. Thank you, Dr. S — and all your team. You have a great staff, and I always feel well cared for in Pittsburgh. But most of all, thank you for your tireless efforts to help people like me who had pretty much given up hope of ever having a normal life back. I am so indebted to you.
Highly recommend and I am always excited to share my success story thanks to simkovich concussion institute! After a traumatic brain injury due to falling on ice one doctor after another including concussion specialist could offer me zero help/ solution. Time and patience is all I kept hearing. Very frustrating to say the least. I was struggling with fine motor skills , walking, visual, being in public, vertigo, migraines basically struggling living life. After a year out of the blue someone recommend Dr. simkovich and reluctantly I scheduled. This was hands down the best decision and I will forever be grateful! Dr. Simkovich is absolutely amazing along with his staff and very welcoming and comforting. After my treatment with him I am truly able to live my life again! This is absolutely priceless! There is no way to truly put into words how grateful I am for Dr. simkovich! He changed my life when modern medicine had absolutely zero solutions.
If you have suffered from a concussion or a head injury, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Simkovich for a free consultation. The therapy he has developed is fascinating and effective. He is a joy to be around, and his team is very friendly and helpful.
Three years ago today I thought I would never get better and here I am without a single problem thanks to him, I’m so thankful, I’m living a normal happy life thanks to this place. I owe them everything. Thank you
After having had benign epilepsy and multiple concussions through childhood, I've finally experienced relief of dull headaches anxiety following Dr. Simkovich's treatment. For those of you that are seeking lasting healing and relief, please go for a visit!
Night and day difference. I was skeptical, I was told by multiple neurologists I had permanent brain damage after 18 years of rugby and 5 years active duty I was on a regular schedule for nerve blocks to control my headaches. I had accepted that this was going to be a regular part of my life. I had my FREE initial consultation. Dr. Simkovich accessed me and said he could fix this. Since receiving treatments, my headache have disappeared my tinnitus has reduced. I noticed better concentration and an overall increase in my quality of life. It has been over 1 year and my symptoms have not returned.
