List of Sharon M Rice Md's Reviews
I’ve been with the practice for 30 years and worked with Dr. Rice got the last two years. She’s always friendly, thorough, and I’d readily recommend her.
I don’t normally rate doctors but when I saw that she only had 3 ratings (and I had a totally different experience with her), I felt that the right thing to do was to give her my rating. I only have had 1 appointment with her. She was friendly, direct, and knowledgeable, and answered any questions I had, performing an in-office procedure on me promptly and with an empathetic attitude. Based on my interaction with her, I wouldn’t hesitate to see her again.
After learning that I was in the process of miscarriage, I was given three options. Surgical, pill, or wait and let it happen naturally. I chose to wait. I had gone through a miscarriage just a few months before on my own and knew what to expect. I asked for some medication to ease the pain during the process and she said "it only lasts a few hours" . Never have I felt more dismissed by someone who should know exactly how horrible what I was about to go through was. Now I am switching doctors in the middle of a miscarriage. No fun.
Dr Sharon Rice is a wonderful physician and treats her patients well. She listens to her patients concerns and provides easy to understand answers. Excellent in every way. I highly recommend her.
Felt rushed, she didn’t greet me, she stood by the door the entire time as if she didn’t want to approach me. I asked her questions regarding the covid-19 vaccine and she was not able to answer any questions considering I am concerned for the well being of my unborn child. My experience was horrible and I will never be seeing her again.
Wouldn’t recommend. My experience with her was horrible. Find someone who really cares about you and the well being of your unborn child.
Being a first time mother, there was not one enjoyable aspect about this facility or the doctors. It was nearly impossible to get a response most of the time. I felt rushed at every appointment. I never received any information. The times I saw this particular doctor were especially uncomfortable. She was in and out of the room. I got in a very significant car accident & the hospital that was monitoring me (not Abington) requested i got follow up blood work. When i explained that to Dr. Rice, she was shaking her head the entire time “no” and told me that the reason my levels were elevated was from the trauma and blood work was not necessary. If you are looking for a meaningful pregnancy experience, avoid this place at all cost. (These feelings were established pre-pandemic as well)
My first time at Abington Hospital and women’s care today and I seen Dr. Sharon Rice. I have been driving myself crazy trying to have a OBGYN Doctor listen to what is going on with me. Until today when Dr. Rice actually listened to me and cared about what I was telling her and ordered some test to be done. She is an amazing doctor and I would definitely recommend her to others. Her staff are also very pleasant and welcoming.
The worst doctor ever amd the staff is even more rude!!! Do not use!!! So rude and inconsiderate of peoples time!!!
Like many other women here, I experienced a similar attitude when I visited “Dr.” Rice. I’m not one to write negative reviews, but when you aren’t listening to my concerns I have about my body, you aren’t doing your job. A similar attitude was given to me by the nurse who brought me in. Aside from the front desk receptionists, I didn’t enjoy my visit. Even years prior with another doctor in the practice I had a problem with someone actually hearing out my problems. When I brought my issues up to my primary, she was shocked. She (my primary) also does gynecology within that practice. I thought maybe, hey, I’ll try Women Care again. I guess I made an uneducated choice, as uneducated as the people within the practice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
