Dr Izzo made a series of serious errors in the course of what should have been a simple cataract surgery. He wouldn't listen & kept denying anything was wrong, even accused me of being ungrateful for his wonderful work. I did my own research, the surgical errors ultimately correctly diagnosed by another doctor. It required 3 complicated surgeries to repair, and I will likely never have full vision again. Though that's better than what would have happened if I had continued to listen to him & believe everything was fine, in which case I likely would have gone blind in that eye. There are so many good eye surgeons, he is not among them. Please, find a different doctor to do your surgery.

I am completely satisfied with and couldn’t be happier about the outcome of my cataract surgery. I was able to choose the multi-focal lens option. I now have great distance and close up vision again. I was a bit apprehensive before the first procedure, but Dr. Izzo was very reassuring and I felt an immediate rapport with him. He explained everything thoroughly and answered my questions satisfactorily. The surgery itself was quick and painless. On both occasions I had only mild discomfort the day of the surgery that was alleviated by rest and application of the eye drops prescribed. Again, on both occasions by the next day I had clear vision and no discomfort. The entire experience was very well organized and expectations were communicated effectively. No details were neglected. For example, the written post-op instructions and eye drop application schedule were very helpful. I was impressed with the professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness of everyone at this practice.

The office was a zoo. I have autoimmune disorders, and he treated me without wearing a mask and didn't wash his hands before touching my eyes!!! I asked him if he had, and he said smugly, "I wash my hands several times a day." Completely violated infection prevention protocol.

Doesn't listen. Can't admit he's wrong. Had to have more surgery to fix his mistakes. Seriously. Please. Find yourself another doctor.

Dr. Izzo did my cataract removals within the last 10 days and it was a very positive experience. From my first visit, he was consistently thorough, friendly, informative, and detail-oriented, everything you want in a surgeon who will be operating on your eyes. Everything was explained and I was put at ease during the procedures. Just 2 days after my second surgery, I have nearly perfect vision again. He obviously holds himself to a high standard and it shows. I am very pleased with my results.

The staff at both the office and surgery center are excellent caring individuals who always provide professional high-quality care for all their patients. I highly recommend Dr. Domenic C. Izzo, JR, who removed my cataracts in two separate surgeries and restored my vision to 25/25 and improved my color perception. Dr.Izzo is an excellent dedicated Eye Surgeon who truly cares about his patients and their vision needs. This is the only staff I will trust my eye care too! I would highly recommend dr. Izzo at berks eye. he is an excellent surgeon. I had cataract surgery and it was a wonderful experience. he kept me feeling at ease all the time.
