This office is great, thry are very caring, supportive and do their best for their clients
They have great aides, I am very well taken care of. If you need help call angels on call! I have an aide in the morning and an aide in the evening. They are both wonderful. I've never felt more taken care of them I do with these Angels.
The staff at the York location of AOC is absolutely amazing! I have been receiving services for over 7 years and never realized there was an agency like Angels on Call out there. The aide they've provided for me has been the best one I've ever had. They take care of their clients and staff equally and have made my life feel complete since onboarding. Everyone should know how amazing the staff here is and how much they truly care about their clients. To the AOC staff thank you for all you do, I love you all, and you are all marvelous!--Cheryl.
The staffs are very caring and compassionate, not only for the workers, but also for their clients. I Love working with this team.
I am forever grateful for the relationship that I built with AOC and all of your team. I don't hesitate to recommend AOC York with the highest rating to anyone looking for home health services. Our caregiver, Keith, was so caring despite being with Gene during his toughest hours of the day. He stepped up to the plate and did an amazing job with my husband. He was not only a caregiver but also our friend! I am thankful for all the kindness and support received from AOC York staff during my most difficult time.---Kathy F. Avoid at all costs. The office has been chaos from the beginning and the good ones they did have they ran out of town. The current staff are rude, condescending and I’ve known a lot of caregivers that work/worked there and they all said the same thing..... Run! They seem so nice and great in the beginning and then they treat you like dirt if you don’t pick up a shift. Stay away from Cara and Ashley. They will make you feel like your crazy.Find another agency for sure
I want to start with that most of the caregivers themselves are pretty good. There are some that are excellent, some not. The problem with this company is management. They expect you to fill in when their employees call off, often at the last minute. I spoke to a lawyer about this and they said there is no way I should be filling in for another's company's employee. I explained this to AOC management. I also told them not to call me unless it's an emergency concerning the client. This was after they called me 17 times in one weekend. My cell was ringing off the hook even after I told them I was out of the area. Before that I was getting called multiple times during the week, day and night because someone wasn't showing up for a client that required 24/7 care. Do you have any idea how stressful this is and having to go to work early that morning!I was also told by management that in the event the shift couldn't be filled, they would fill it themselves since the client required 24/7 care. When reminding them of this, they said they never heard of that. I was a manager at a store and if an employee called off and the shift couldn't be filled, I had to fill it. Talking to the call center concerning this, they said the management never answered their phones when they called them to fill in!I just heard from the client and they were told that they were being dropped in 30 days because AOC left them without support on 3 different shifts. Actually it was more than that on a client that required 24/7 care! I call the client on a regular basis to check up on their well being and hear when someone hadn't shown up.Since I'm to be called in an emergency, I wonder why they didn't call me? They recently started to call again and said it was an emergency when the shift couldn't be filled by their employees. So, if it was an emergency, why didn't they fill it? I'm guessing they wanted to drop the client and wanted to record their lack of staffing since they hadn't called me the other times they left the client alone.I'm wondering if it's a legal issue as one of their caregivers told me they couldn't legally leave the client alone. This was before she walked out and left the client alone because the next shift called off. I still have the texts from that one! Interesting that AOC didn't post the open shift until 1 hour before the shift ended and knew hours earlier as per the caregiver's text. With working over 40 hours a week and being on call with my own job 24/7, I do the best I can. There are reasons why they are hired to look after my loved one and I expected them to take good care of them. You may want to do diligence and check out an agency before committing to them. Also find out if the care giver can speak english if that's the only language the client can understand and if they actually have ADEQUATE staffing and are honest concerning their commitment. They may sound good at first....
This organization has been nothing but an absolute and total failure when it comes to the care and compassion they claim they will provide. Their employees are mostly comprised of people who don't want to work or put forth any effort towards the position they signed up for. Their employees miss so much work on a weekly basis leaving their patients without care. It's absolutely amazing if you even receive a phone call to let you know that no one is coming to provide you service. If you're fortunate enough to receive a phone call, it's nothing but lies and excuses. The staff obviously doesn't train their "care givers" effectively or have appropriate backup measures for the never ending call offs. Please do yourself a favor if you or a loved one needs care, never consider angels on call! You will only be disappointed.
