I want Dr Caplan to know that missing my appointments is due to my physical condition. Right now i have a severed hearing ear infectiion Previously i could not walk and sometimes had to crawl on my knees into my appointments. Your office does not offer equipment to help patients who are struggling to get along. If necessary, i will find another Dermatologist, even if i have to travel a long distance. I am struggling daily to get along, and hopefully will get my hearing back next week, once again having to fit in medical availabilties.

He completely missed my spouse’s melanoma on his back despite concern being raised knowing his family history of melanoma and occupational long-term sun exposure on fair skinned Caucasian.

Like others here, I have a history of skin cancer and rely on a dermatologist to spot things I can't see. Dr. Caplan's full-body exam of me lasted less than one minute and was no more involved than a glance from about three feet away. He seemed to be annoyed by questions, and I got the feeling that I was a terribly inconvenient interruption to his day.

Lousy. I waited for months to have a concern evaluated. This physician barely touched me, much less completed a thorough exam. Would not recommend to anyone! BIG disappointment

My appointment with Dr. Caplan was one of the worst I have ever had. He took little time to examine me or explain his prognosis or explain the treatment. In addition, he seemed annoyed when I asked questions to pursue an understanding. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

Yearly skin check. In and out. Did a very quick visual scan of me. Don’t think he would have noticed if there was an issue... Disappointed. I can’t see/check all of me - that’s what I needed you to do.

Awful! Scheduled for a full body scan and he was with me no more than 1 minute. Full body scans are thorough and review all parts of your body. This was done standing up for literally 1 minute. I have to pay for that?! Ridiculous.

Dr. Caplan did not succeed in removing all of my squamous cell skin cancer by the incision method. I have since learned he should have known MOHS surgery is the first standard for squamous cell. He scheduled MOHS by his associate for 3 months away when maximum 1 month is standard. Caplan did not “map” my cancer, also standard, so MOHS by another doctor I chose was much more difficult. He has terrible bedside manner, rushes through appointments, seems indifferent to patients and their lives. I do not recommend him.

The supposed 'whole body mole check' lasted less than 15 seconds, even though he had been informed of previous problems with moles . Total time spent was under 1 minute. What a complete waste. I will never return. Seemingly no concern for the patient. The ease of making an appointment (even for the next day) should have been a real red flag. Multiple days and times available. This NEVER is the case with a good dermatologist. Normally appointments are at least a month out!
