List of Upmc Memorial's Reviews
I've only been to the ER but they were great! I brought my daughter in because she thought she broke her foot and they had her back for x-rays within 20 minutes of arrival. Staff was super friendly and they seemed to really enjoy their job.
This is one of the most unreliable hospitals I’ve been in contact with. I called at the beginning of the week and was scheduled for an urgent appointment at the end of the week; they waited until a couple hours before the appointment to inform me that they were going to refuse to provide me service. Fortunately, my issue isn’t fatal. Now I know to not leave my life in their hands.
Early in the morning of 6/13/23, I had an Echo-Cardiogram, some x-rays, EKG, and a nuclear stress test. I hope I don't miss anyone who was part of all this. But the names I have are Sierra, Sheila, Kameryn, Ashley, Noah and Kayla. (If I missed anyone I apologize). I was treated with total professionalism, and great care and concern. Everyone was cheerful and made sure I was comfortable and understood completely what was being done or was going to be done. This was my first trip to UPMC Imaging, but if I need to go back, no worries. To all who worked with me and those who read the charts and screens and operated the machines, Thank you. The nurses and technicians were constantly informing me of what would happen and make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Thank you all.
I'm waiting for 4 hours to see the doctor I see the results first in the app after that I still waiting longer
Time spent in ER was quicker than expected. However most of the staff are cold and unfriendly.
Absolutely the worst care my mother has ever received at a hospital. She said never take her there again .neglectful
My daughter had surgery there this morning. I’m up from Myrtle Beach to be with her. This place is a model for how a hospital should be. From the check in process to the discharge, these folks are perfection in action. During the surgery, we went to the cafeteria and again, they get a 10! Prices are very reasonable and the quality and atmosphere are better than a lot a chain restaurants. This place is beautiful. Water features out, immaculate on the inside, and professional. A++. Very well done.
Nothin like having nurses in the ER to rock, paper, scissors and getting an attitude about doing there job. A lot of patients left the ER after being in the ER side just because of the unprofessional.
I was there yesterday when it was time they placed me in the hallway where everyone could hear my conversation and my information and why I was there and all. They violated by HIPPAA that they had me sign. A lot of people might not care but for the once that do heads up. Oh and they don’t even communicate between each other nor do they communicate with the people in the lap room.
**1 1/2 YEAR POST SURGERY UPDATE** I am doing great so far. I healed nicely and now joke about doing the same thing to the other ankle so I can get a new one on that side. I have a pretty substantial scar. Thats due mostly to my allergy to Neosporine type ointments. Occasionally I get a sharp pain when trying to pivot on that foot. I never mean to pivot on it, but its a normal motion. It quickly reminds me it still needs more time for that kind of movement. I also push myself pretty hard physically during my workday so that dosnt help. I am back to normal work though and have even been going to the gym for 6 months. After my surgery I was back to work in 8 weeks. I would and DO recommend Dr. Christian to anyone I come across who needs him. He's the best. On Dec 2nd 2021 I dislocated and severed all ligaments and muscles in my ankle at work when stepping into a pot hole filled with leaves. Thebonly thing I didnt do to it was break it SOME HOW, After many visits with a doctor who didn't know her you know what from a hole In the ground at Concentra in Mechanicsburg, I finally requested an Orthopedic specialist in York where I live. I ended up scheduling with Dr Christian at OSS on Powder Mill Rd. He was EXCELLENT and set me up for an MRI. Within days he was able to tell me that I tore numerous ligaments partially and fully which would need repaired to prevent future complications. He got me into surgery 3 days later on Christmas Eve, Eve. My surgery was at UPMC Memorial in West York. Wow! First, what a beautiful hospital. It's so clean and open. It felt totally different then a normal hospital. All of the receptionists there were so helpful and kind. This was my first surgery so I was nervous. They helped my mom understand how to keep track of my progress and they were in constant communication with her about how I was doing. The nurses are top notch. All of them. They were so nice and personable. They made me giggle and kept me calm throughout the entire process. My phlebotomist who did my IV, line and blood drawl was amazing. She got it on the first try and listened to my request about going straight for my Left hand as opposed to anywhere else. Over my lifetime, when having blood taken etc, they always try 4 places before they try my hand. That's where they all land. She was great at understanding that she might as well go for the gold first and it made things so much easier. My 2 anestiologists were awesome. I appreciated their attention to detail and for them taking the time to explain to me that their roles were and how they work as a team during my surgery. Dr. Christian did a great job and everyone at UPMC created an excellent surgery experiance for me. I really appreciated that and would highly recommend this hospital to everyone that I know.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
