I have struggled with the decision about writing this. I am a very healthy active 66 year old nurse, for 36 years. About 7 months ago I developed severe lower back pain. I went to q care where I was x rayed, etc. It was recommended that I see a neurologist. I went thru physical therapy without relief. Had MRI. Finally pain clinic. I NEVER at any time asked for pain medication. I felt that I was being treated rather rudely by this physician. When asked about my history re the back pain and I was explaining what happened she actually mocked me. She told me that there was nothing wrong with me. (I have 2 pages of MRI with everything wrong) yet she scheduled me for spinal injection? I think not. After talking to my PCP and other medical personnel I was advised to not go thru with it. There was no reason for her to be condescending and rude to me and I sm still shocked by it. So, I had to switch to a less strenuous shift and still struggling with back pain. All I wanted was to fix the issues. I was treated like an idiot and a drug seeker.
Dr. McCann is a caring compassionate doctor. She has always provided excellent care for me and I highly recommend her.

She did not review my xrays, simply did a neurological exam even though I told her I had seen 4 neurologists over the years. She then referred me to one more neurologist. This appointment was a complete waste of time and money.
Dr. McCann was very professional. I was happy with my services.
I had been under the care of a previous doctor in another state. McCann refused to continue the care I had been receiving even though it was acceptable to me. She offered ONLY needles and I had gone through multiple injections prior to moving to this are and seeing this doctor. I refused the injection. She suggested a referral to a surgeon a process through which Id already been more than once. I told her the surgeon would say that they would not do surgery due to my age and that they would only send me back to pain management. All I wanted was to continue on the medications I had been taking. McCann refused this because she was concerned about where Id be at age 80 if I continued on the medications. Im not currently worried about decades from now but I am concerned about NOW. I dont want my kids remembering me always in pain or always on the couch because it hurts to move. So unless you like padding her checking account by agreeing to only go through the horrible procedures of needles all over then pass up on this doctor and keep looking. This wasnt the one for me.
