Pamela Harrop's Online Review Report Card

Dr Harrop has been my primary care physician for 22 years. She listens and she cares. She never rushes and is always on time. I trust her completely and I am very glad to be her patient.

Dr. Harrop is a very caring doctor and does whatever it is that needs to be done for the welfare of her patient. She stays on top of all illnesses and injuries and even calls your home or the hospital to check on you. When she has to refer you to another doctor, such as a urologist, she still stays on top of the situation for which you are seeing that doctor. In fact, I must say, the first time I went to her I was in kidney failure and did not know it and she took care of me as if I had always been her patient. Her practice is one that still sees patients at the hospital and the doctors in her practice are very caring as well. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Harrop has treated three generations of my family. She has always been caring and goes beyond the norm of what is expected. She has demonstarted this many times in all situations, but especially in very serious circumstances. She listens to the patient and the caregivers concerns. She is very compassionate, reachable, and professional. Always makes a difficult situation by presenting options and explanations.

Very simply the best smartest compassionate doctor in all of Rhode Island and she is so low key that she doesn’t get enough credit for what she does. She is President of Bristol County Medical Center probably the one of the oldest such facilities of its kind in Rhode Island. My parents began going to MARI 46 years ago when we moved to RI, and Dr. Harrop began practicing probably 30 years ago. All I know is that she hasn’t taken new patients for years because she always has a waiting list. She teaches at RI Hospital for Brown University and turns out fabulous medical students while maintaining her own practice in Bristol. I would trust her with my life and soul; she is compassionate and thorough. She will never hesitate to send a person to an expert if she isn’t sure. She is your doctor for life. I am one of the lucky ones who made it to her list!!

This doctor does not return calls the majority of the time, rarely does anyone answer the phone at her office. You're more than likely to get the answering service or a voice mail. She is not responsive to requests for medication; even the pharmacy didn't get a response from her until a week later. She also neglected to send a referral even though it was requested in writing long before the appointment. I had to contact her office (one of the few times someone answered) and have it sent immediately and almost missed my appt. Rather than go into more details, I would encourage anyone looking for a doctor to look elsewhere.

Dr. Harrop has taken care of me for the past 6 years, including a long illness requiring a couple of hospital stays. She is extraordinarily dedicated, thorough and compassionate. I have tremendous trust in her medical knowledge and her care. She makes herself available and always spends as much time as I need.

She has been my doctor for over 20 years. She is a very dedicated and caring physcian. On several occasions she has gone above and beyond to find out or eliminate certain problems I have had. She leaves no stone unturned.

Excellent physician who covers all bases and is concerned for your physical as well as emotional well being. Very proactive.

Dr Harrop is known to be one of the best diagnosticians and internists in RI. I was fortunate to be accepted as her patient seventeen years ago, and have been very very happy that this was so. She was the "one the nurses recommend". Dr Harrop has an excellent bed/chair side manner. Somehow she must have skipped the med-school class that a lot of physicians aced, that is the one in "How to be arrogant". She displays a comfortable confidence that is inspiring and a real concern for the patient as a person. I never return to the offices where the physician or staff gives the attitude "I'm the doctor, you don't need to know that". Dr Harrop does just the opposite, she realizes that the person sitting in front of her knows his or her body and symptoms and can only help him or her self by getting answers. She also will happily refer her patients to another physician if she feels it is necessary. There has been no injury or illness of mine that she has been unable to address in my years of being one of her patients. Dr Harrop is, simply, one of the best!
