He was my dr.for 25yrs.Im a nurse.I thought he was a ok Dr.until he announced he was retiring. He Referred me to a horrible Dr.Very disappointed That he would pawn me off to someone like that. He should’ve never moved from his office.
My dad had a tumor the size of a cantaloupe this hack never touched my dad. Listened to his heart and lungs and sent him on his way. My dad has past away due to this doctors malpractices. Run
Doctor Amrut Patel is one off the most amazing, compassionate, caring Doctors that there is in Rhode island.....He is on top of all his patients medical problems and gives them the right care that they need..... He and his wife work extremely hard for their patients and to get to the bottom of each medical problems that they may be suffering from and give them the right treatments and medications for what ever medical issues that they may have.... They both truly care for each and every patient that they see... As one of his patients myself and husband both get his unconditional support and care due to our health problems.
Not a good experience with Dr. Patel. Takes patient very lightly and doesn’t try to understand what patient is going through and instead of recommending specialty, he recommended going to psychiatrist hospital. Also, phone number is going to voicemail one hour before closing. Can’t reach him when it’s emergency. I would not recommend going to this doctor at all.
What kind of doctor is this? My dad is out of prescriptions and despite of leaving Soo many messages and talking over phone for refill, he does not respond at all. Pharmacist called multiple time but no response. Does he even care about patients or he just care about money? Doctor’s first responsibility is their patient, no matter what. But what I understood from this doctor is that he only cares whether he is getting paid or not. Not recommending this doctor at any cost.
My parents are going there for over 15 years now and we recently have noticed both of are parents health is deteriorating day by day. He would call them every 2 months for visit and makes them wait for long time and then spends few minutes with them. He never never listens to patients problem and explains nothing and he talks back in a extreme unprofessional ways. He judges patients, instead of being a carrying and helpful professional. He does not have a doctorate knowledge that you would see in current professionals. I am also a health professional and I can tell you that he is playing with patients health and before you know you will end up in hospital if you are his patients.. Charges patient cash and also bills the insurance and does not give refills for medicines even though they go there REGULARLY and rejects calls from patients and pharmacy for refills. My parents are suffering from chronic conditions and we were under impression that they were under physician care regularly and everything is good but we found out now he isn't taking care of them. He would call them every few months, bill the insurance and never send prescriptions. My dad has multiple conditions then requires him take medicines regularly and he would not send prescription to pharmacy and my dad hasn't taken pills for days now and suffering with extreme symptoms and getting weak day by day. My mom stopped eating completely for over a week and already lost 9 lbs in less then 2 weeks due to chronic health condition that was overlooked by him, then she was admitted into the hospital and then were told to follow up immediately with her primary care, which is Mr patel. So we called him, he would not listen to her symptoms at all and he tells her that you have mental issue and nothing is wrong with you and gives her a pill to calm send her home. My mom is still not eating and now have lost over 12 lbs in less then three week. So we finally thought of taking her to different doctor and guess what, new doctor told us that she has a major issue that she was suffering from years and now its up the level where her body can't handle eating anymore and were told she was close to be in critical condition patient. Thank to Mr patel, for taking such great care by ruining patients health for years and playing with their emotion, trust, time for your own good. I am thankful to god that we found out before it was extremely late the truth of this guy who calls himself a doctor. Believe it or not this is my first review online about anyone and I am writing this because this guy has hurt my loved one and placed our entire family under extreme stress. I don't want this to happen to anyone, and this is why I am writing this from my heart, please please do not make him your doctor, there are plenty of knowledgable, professional, trustable and carrying doctors out there, but he certainly not the one. Let me tell you he is lucky to even have a office, I bet you that he can never get hired by professional medical group. To all the patients who is reading this, please take a moment to think about how is this doctor helping you if you are his patients, he may make you feel you are fine, but you will find out years later that he is purposely overlooking your major health issues and just like my mom you will also find out major complication after being admitted in hospital. Don't just assume that he is taking care of you because he calls himself a doctor, sometime you know your self better than a doctor. Mr patel is not competitive doctor, he is there just to pay his bills and not to provide standard of care, with trust, honestly, carrying and professional ways.

He is a nice and knowledgeable doctor. He gives ample time to understand whats going on with the patient and his medicine works. Doctor Patel, You Rock!!
My 80 Year old disabled mother had seen him for a months shy of a year. My mother went from a 3 month appointment to a every other week schedule only so he could pump medicare for the visits and he lowered our 90 day supply of meds to a 2 week supply only to refill them by the visit. This ones floored me. He went on vacation in April,2015 without having a nurse peractioner or Dr to fill her meds. we had to wait 10 days for him to return to fill her meds. I also should mention if you want your elderly parent frightened when being Talked At... Rather than being Talked To and nervous to return, not to mention jamming your work schedule when proven not necessary... Then he may just be the doctor you want. Good luck

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
