He and his office staff are patient, empathetic, and understanding. They take their time with the patient; obtaining important paperwork to the visit itself and then the follow up. Highly recommend Dr. Coia and his practice.

I started seeing Dr Coia after my pcp retired last year. It's one of the best things I've done in a long time. He is taking care of several issues that my former pcp had basically ignored for years. I have several complicated health issues and "ologists". At the start of every visit, he goes through who I've seen and what the outcome was. He coordinates and oversees the entire picture. He listens patiently and asks lots of questions. His office staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. If they say they are going to do something, it's done, unlike the staff at many other practices. Carol is always right on top of things. Brittany was very polite and a big help the one time I've spoken to her. My husband is planning to switch physician and see Dr Coia. Every interaction with his office has been positive. I highly recommend him.

My first appointment was an interrogation along with him bashkng a previous doctor of mine. I then had lab work done with some serious results that needed to be discussed. Instead, he continues to interrogate me about past doctors and a previous drug screen performed that I did not sign any consent for. I am on methadone and this is why people with my background have a hard time telling PCPs because of the way they treat you. I wanted to address my lab results, I wasn’t there drug seeking like I am sure he presumed. His attitude made it very difficult for me to feel comfortable enough to explain my story. Also, lab results can be dealt with via phone call. 1 mo follow up was made to earn more $. You deserve someone who genuinely cares about your health, look elsewhere.

I went to see Dr Coia after my Dr who I saw for almost 40 yrs passed away unexpectedly. Dr Coia was very thorough, patient, & kind. He listened to all my questions & concerns & did not rush me. When I had questions concerning my medications & treatments after my 1st appt. Dr Coia & his secretary Carol got back to me right away the following morning. Carol is very kind & helpful. She explains everything & answers any questions or concerns you may have. I was very nervous having to find a new Dr in less than 2 weeks due to the unexpected passing of my Dr. They took me right in & have alleviated any anxiety I had while working though this process of establishing a new Pt./Dr relationship. It is hard to find a good Dr who will actually sit & listen to all your questions & concerns without feeling rushed or unheard. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an excellent family care Doctor to go and see him.

When I had some questions concerning my medications and treatments later that day after the office closed I was able to send my concerns via ‘my chart’ app and he got back to me right away the following morning along with the secretary Carol. Carol is very kind and helpful. She explains everything and will answer any questions or concerns you have either in office or by phone. I was very nervous having to find a new Doctor in less than two weeks due to the unexpected passing of my last Doctor. They took me right in and have alleviated any anxiety I had while working though this process of establishing a new patient/Doctor relationship. It is hard to find a good Doctor who will actually sit and listen to all your questions and concerns without feeling rushed or unheard. This was not the case here. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an excellent family care Doctor to go and see him.

He listens and responds with compassion and respect that few doctors have these days.

Nothing went well. Long waits with nobody there, doctor not knowledgeable about anything, would not respond, rolls his eyes and walks away. Rude and unprofessional.

Dr Coia was very friendly on my first visit and showed that he really cares about his patients. He was on top of getting things done right away and I had a lot of problems. I thank him and his staff for making me feel welcomed and that they care

I found out that dr. coia left Johnston and is now at n. smithfield , not doing primary care !!

DR Coia is GREAT. He answers all my Questions. Takes his time.
