David Cheng's Online Review Report Card

I wish yelp allow me to rate 0 star. I went to see doctor Cheng. They rejected me for my insurance card not having my name on it. I explained to the aged lady(Cheng's wife) that I only have old insurance card which wasn't update with my name. But the insurance does cover me. Please please verify my insurance coverage from insurance website. Cheng's wife was very rude and she told me Cheng can't see me if i can't provide insurance proof. I addressed it was front desk's job to verify the insurance before the appointment. They didn't ask me to provide insurance information when I called in. I took half day off for my appointment and I was physically in the office, and Dr Cheng discharged me. I tried to explain to Dr Cheng and he told me he can't see me if i can't provide insurance proof. I wasted 2 hours for the appointment. Cheng and his staff don't show respect for their patients.

I have been a patient of Dr Cheng for over 10 years now.I absolutely love Dr Cheng .He is very professional and very caring person and knowledgeable,always helpful and answered all my questions.I gave Dr Cheng and her Staffs 5 stars and THANK them very much

I've been seeing Dr. Cheng since I was in high school with a few exceptions here and there (e.g. when I was away at college) and he is hands down the best doctor I've ever seen. He's extremely knowledgeable and experienced and will always have the right remedy for any issue. Responding to some of the other reviews, it's true the office is not the most modern and he's extremely busy. BUT - bottom line he's a super great doctor and he also consults in other hospitals for Oncology. Also the comments about his receptionists being rude - I find that not to be the case, they are always extremely nice to me. You will be in good hands with Dr. Cheng.

Dr. Cheng diagnosed by diabetes and referred me to a great specialist. Generally Dr. Cheng has a great manner and is glad to answer questions.I believe he's highly competent and trustworthy.

My whole family has been coming here for over 20 years. Without fail, Dr Cheng has always given us proper care. His staff is friendly. His manner is kind and caring. I've also noticed that he is very thorough: He asks several questions. Some not so obvious to my discomfort just to rule out other possibilities. When I went to get an ultrasound recently, the staff also mentioned how kind and thorough he was as well and told me I was in good hands with him. We've always been happy to visit him as our primary care physician.

This review is for the office staff of Dr Cheng. My mother was referred to Dr Cheng. One would think that when his office receives the referral from a primary care provider, they would ask the PCP for the patient's insurance information before calling the patient to schedule a time sensitive appointment. They scheduled my mother but had to reschedule because the doctor was sick. That's fine, doctors are humans too. The office called to reschedule and we have to call in sick to accommodate the new appointment time only to be turned away because they do not accept my mother's secondary insurance. That was a waste of time, energy, sick hours! They have been in the business for a long time, they could've made sure before scheduling if they do accept the patient's insurance or not.

i would like to give a zero star if i could. made an appointment for 9am and they kept me waiting for more than one hour, but finally Dr only showed up for three mins. he seemed really impatient and after telling him i felt really painful in my ankle he just looked at it for three seconds and referred me to therapy treatment. there is no judgement on my pain or anything!he didnt care about the patients but just wanted to get money. and the staff there are very bad attitude as well. glad that i changed another family doctor now. avoid this doctor, cant believe he can get any reputation at all!

Dr. Cheng had been my father's doctor for many years. He change his Doctor lately. I ask him why. He told me that when Doctor send him to the lab. They never call him for the result or book him a return appointment. Even the lab result is not normal. And there was forms need the doctor to fill in and sign, all other doctors (the specialists) all fill in and sign, he ask the staff fill in and don't sign in Other language that he think my father don't understand. And he was my father's primary provider. I am glad my father change the primary provider. This is not a doctor should do to the patient.

Ok, so I went in here today totally nervous because of all the bad reviews. And yes, I read them ALL. I'm about to have surgery to have my gallbladder removed, and my surgeon wanted to make sure we would not have any issues with blood clots since I have a history (completely unrelated to surgery, mine was caused by the Ortho Evra birth control patch in 2003). I walked in to a slightly dated office that is very well-maintained, CLEAN, organized and it smells great. I was immediately greeted by a smiling and super FRIENDLY Mai Li (not sure if I spelled her name right, sorry). I filled out the necessary paperwork, used the restroom, and was immediately roomed. I didn't see any other patients, and I didn't have much of a wait (like maybe ten minutes while he was probably phoning another doctor or doing paperwork or something), but could be because I had the last appointment of the day. *shrug*The room had a RECLINER that I was invited to sit in after Mai Li took my vitals on the exam chair. I kinda wish I'd had to wait..I found that the recliner was fully functional and was about to take a nap. Hehe.Dr. Cheng came in and introduced himself with a smile. We bantered a little as he took my detailed history. He explained everything he was doing as he examined me, including when he was measuring my calves to compare size (possible indicator of clotting issues present if it's swollen). He's soft spoken and has a GREAT bedside (errrr, recliner-side? Lol) manner. Seriously, these complaints must have been made a while back or just sour grapes because something didn't go the reviewer's way.Noticed there were no photos, so I took plenty for y'all on my way out! I asked the lady at the front desk (didn't get her name, but may have been his wife that is mentioned in other reviews) if she minded if I took some photos, and she smiled and pretty much let me go for it. :) We chatted for a bit about the office, how long they've been there, etc. She was also super nice and friendly.In short, I definitely recommend this office for whatever they can help you with.
