Excellent Doctor and staff
Totally positive experience. Dr. Jellinek is THE BEST, and Lois and Jessica were very professional and caring and explained everything that was going to happen and what was being done.
Wow - what an experience - but so very happy to have experienced it at the hands of doctor jellinek. He made me feel comfortable and allowed me the time to ask the questions I needed to ask and when my question wasn’t asked correctly he took the time to accurately rephrase the question and make me feel even more comfortable. Highly recommend doctor jellinek!!
The staff are great. I know Dr. Jellinek cares and has a lot of expertise. I know my body best though as does any patient. He did surgery on one of my nails as a "test run" to remove the ingrown sides and it worked extremely well, zero pain years afterwards. A test run for what though? He REFUSES to do the other ones what have been consistently hurting. Injections are a band-aid, they only work for a few days. The Hypafix tape didn't work at all. I know I have fibro and sense pain differently, but there's a difference between all over pain and sharp pain in one area. My Rheumatologist who injects my fingers has noticed an increase in inflammation, that's not going to go away. My podiatrist also can clearly see they're ingrown but only works on toes. Yes my toenails have had the sides removed three times on each nail and they've grown back, but the same amount of acid was not used (once as opposed to 6 times with Dr. Jellinek's procedure), therefore that can't be used as a comparison. The previous hand surgeon and my current one have both remarked about my ingrown nails as well but they don't do what Dr. Jellinek does. Dr. Bhatt's words were "I'm sorry, I can't make him do it." Dr. Schmidt went so far as to try to find another dermatologist who would do it in RI but sadly couldn't. Apparently Dr. Jellinek is all there is. I at first took two years from seeing Dr. Jellinek as I tried losing weight, but my GERD and motility disorder prevent me from doing so, so that route won't work for my nails either. When I returned and he of course again refused to do the surgery I knew 100% would work, I ended up in tears from him yelling at me and telling me "I can't strongarm him." Technically he's right, but I'll be darned if he'll keep me in pain and even worse, do the same to others. Every surgery I've had on other parts of my body has been my decision as I've always been right. I'm not going to keep waking up in the middle of the night (several nights) with my sides of my nails having pins and needles and a vibrating feeling when surgery can be done. This pain is not in other parts of my body - it's in my nails! I've had enough. The office staff and nursing staff are great, but Dr. Jellinek needs to listen to his patients. If four other professionals who work on hands (and toe nails) can see it, why can't he? Today he remarked about irritants getting in the corners and suggested white gloves in bags while cleaning and doing dishes. They're INGROWN for goodness sakes !!!! If my pain keeps up, I'm making a formal complaint and possibly taking other action. A permanent solution is needed, not "band-aid" temporary solutions.
Always quick and quality service. Dr. J is personable and friendly. He inquires about how you’re doing beyond whatever issue he is treating and he remembers the details in follow up visits. Most importantly, he saved my life.
Dr. Jellinek is a great doctor. Everything went extremely well. Everyone at this practice was very caring and attentive.
Dr. Jellinek and his staff were pleasant, professional and efficient. The office was very clean and comfortable. Dr. Jellanek was patient and took the time to listen to my concerns, which helped ease my anxiety I highly recommend this office!
Dr and staff are absolute pros in their approach to a difficult and stressful surgery. Thr one thing that bothers me tremendously is the lack of pain medication post procedure. I am sitting here first day post surgery with a pounding headache which spikes when I move my eyes. Yes. That's all the time. So, we the current state of opiodophobia the lack of a couple of days of stronger then Tylenol would have been appreciated for pain control and the ability to sleep uninterrupted. That's my only issue!!
Very friendly staff. Procedures were explained clearly, and expectations of what would happen in the following week were also explained. Although the experience was not “enjoyable,” the conversation with staff was comforting.
I was very impressed with Dr. Jellinek. He answered all my questions and is very personable in addition to being highly qualified. I know of many other friends and family who also have a similar high opinion of Dr. Jellinek’s skill as a surgeon.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
