These people are the WORST! The doctors and nurses are fine but the office cannot find their own bottom with a map and a flashlight. I have never had a satisfactory experience in the two years I've been a patient. When you arrive you will wait at least an hour past your scheduled appointment. When they bill your insurance company they will use the wrong codes so you end up wasting time with your insurance company and when you call to get things settled they won't answer the phone. If apathy and a cynical exploitation of their patients is what you're looking for in a primary care physician look no further

This place is a joke. Can't keep one doctor, they keep replacing doctors over and over again and dumping the former patients onto whoever else fills their place. No feeling of stability or consistency. By the time you get used to one doctor, they switch them out, creating a plethora of issues for the patients in the process.

Great staff. Dr Allen is great.

Usually not the most amazing place, but this situation takes the cake. I went in, paid my copay, and waited an obnoxious amount of time to refill my BC script. The NP did it wrong in the system and I got a different version. My pharmacist said no problem, just call back and get them to take two letters off. I have been in actual arguments over the phone with “Jen” as she continues to tell me I’ve been on this new script for the last year but will not call the pharmacy, and when the pharmacist sent over the script for a refill to show the new one is wrong, she calls me and leaves a voicemail saying I asked the doctor for the wrong script and I need to call her to approve the old script because I’ve “never been on it and it’s without iron and women need iron but if you aren’t going to take that script we need confirmation you are going against what women need.” ITS A REFILL. IVE BEEN TAKING IT FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS

I was a patient of Dr Melnick for about a year and a half and received exceptional care, since his retirement I have not been able to get prescriptions filled in a timely manner and after a (successful) bout with cancer last Spring I called in to try to get an appointment due to recurring fatigue issues that have me concerned. I was told I could not be seen until January 2021. I asked the receptionist if I should wait to be seen for this potentially life threatening issue until January and she told me to go to an Urgent Care Clinic if I was unwilling to wait Until January. I went to the office to get my medical records so I could spend today searching for a new physician, they told me they would not be able to release my records today and I would have to wait until sometime next week, then they went to Lunch and turned off their phones. Run do not walk as far away from this practice as humanly possible. Their care and concern for the care and potential outcomes for their patients is poor to the point of negligence. I have every intention of reporting them to the RI Department of Health.

Staff is great, extremely caring. I never had to wait more than 5-10min to be attend... I strongly recommend Ocean State Primary Care.

Went to this establishment for standard check up. Saw the nurse practitioner, which is no big deal I've seen a few in the past. Not much of a personality. Her assistant that comes in before her just to get general information shouldn't be working with people. She's very condescending and just rude. I had called them and told them I wouldn't be returning to that office. Yesterday I get a bill from a collection agency for $25. Now I have no problem paying the office if I owe money. Here's my issue. I never received a single bill from them saying that I owed. Nor did I get a phone call or voice mail saying that I owed. They just went right to collections. It's not the amount, it's the principle. There are other doctors in this office but if they are incapable of communicating to collect money owed to them.... Maybe their doctors and their assistants are great. I'll never find out. By the way, if you read the other reviews left here, you'll see that I'm not the only one who thinks the NP and her assistant shouldn't be there either.

It is almost impossible to get through to anyone. I have been sick going on 6 weeks and I am still trying to get someone to call me back for bloodwork results. I do not recommend going here!

When I first started going here I had no problems! Now, the front staff is horrible! Rude, they don’t return phone calls, just overall horrible attitudes. The NP is rude as well...no bedside manner whatsoever. I will be finding a new office.

I am upgrading my review from Sept 9th. My NP called me this morning and said she had gone back over my recent blood work because she was concerned about the recent neuropathic pain I've been having and in doing so believes it would be beneficial for me to go on an antibiotic. I was surprised to hear from her this morning and very appreciative of her concern. This is how I have been accustomed to Karen Rugg being. Perhaps with the overload of patients recently and everything with this Coronavirus, she was just off the other day at my office visit. Over all, Karen has always been very attentive and compassionate of my medical conditions. I will continue seeing her.
