He started out nice when the visit started and he explained what Afib is, but things devolved from there. When I tried to answer his questions about what I had experienced or if I asked questions, he'd cut me off and wouldn't allow me to me to speak. He kept saying over and over "I can't discuss things outside of my area of expertise". Yet, he was the one that kept bringing up things that were; things he felt contributed to my condition. When I'd try to respond to what he was saying or tell him what another dr I'd been seen by had told me when I discussed the same thing w/them, he'd get snippy and say I had to go fight it out w/that dr about what they said. When I looked at his after-visit summary/notes, what he wrote was way off from what I'd told him. I felt like he wasn't taking the time to listen, just seemed like he was reading a script and didn't want anything to deviate from it.

I have been dealing with atrial fibrillation for the last 7 years. I have been treated with RF ablation at MGH, as well as by Dr. Philbin at CMC. Dr. Philbin fixed my electrical problem when MGH couldn't. Dr Philbin has spent a lot of time with me discussing my condition, never rushing our visits, and always explaining in detail but in terms I can understand what is happening, and what he can/will do to fix the problem. I trust him, and he is one of the best doctors I have ever had treat me.
Very rude, made mistakes about my medications. He took 3 hours to respond to the nurse about correcting his mistakes regarding my medications. Worst doctor I ever met.
After having an ablation done at MGH and having it not work, Dr. Philbin is the one who finally fixed a debilitating issue I have had for nearly 10 years. One of the best doctors I have ever had.
Incredibly patient and explains everything

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
