List of Martin Newman's Reviews
Dr. Newman is a very nice Doctor! I’ve been a patient of his for over 15 years and he has treated me well! Great bedside manners !
Dr. Newman is an older relatively obese man who has absolutely no personality. He was not thorough. I had to draw his attention to my diagnosed glaucoma. I would never recommend him. He was previously sued by a patient in Superior Court.
Dr. Newman is an optometrist whom I have seen on two occasions. I was not informed that Dr. Newman was not an ophthalmologist. However, he performed a glaucoma exam and prescribed glasses. I needed the glaucoma exam but wear drug store readers so I ignored his prescription. I do not believe that he mentioned my incipient cataracts in either exam. I have called RI Eye Institute multiple times & could only leave a message for a call back. I teach and am unavailable for calls. It's ridiculous.
Very thorough and took time to explain procedures.
Must be his relatives doing the first 3 reviews Has little or no manners like the receptionist
Dr. Newman is wonderful. He has helped my entire family, especially me because I have a very complicated prescription.
Very professional demeanor. Was willing to take time when my eyes started to tear.
I have been going to Dr. Newman for 5 years. He is very nice, listens well, answers my questions, and thoroughly checks my eyes.
Dr. Newman did not listen to me at all. He did not give me any treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
