I had a surgery in 2014 on a disc issue. Great job on my back. Took me out of pain. Now waiting for an appointment to be scheduled. Have an acute fracture of L5.

Dr. Lucas' humaneness coupled with his unparalleled surgical skills, is the very definition of what health care is really about. From the very first meeting with Dr. Lucas, I was instantly aware of the true sympathy he had for my condition, and his sincere concern that he would be able to help relieve this condition and change my life for the better. Well, knowing I was in the right hands, I decided to go ahead with the operation. On waking up the pain was gone, and it is still gone. Matter of fact I encountered minimal post-op pain. Operated on a Wednesday, sitting comfortably and painless at a concert on Sunday. Again, Dr. Lucas is a wonderful caring physician. It felt like my doctor was part of my family support!. I cannot thank Dr. Lucas and staff for the gift of pain free living after all these years. Look no further if you are seeking care. Dr. Lucas and University Orthopedics is the Top Gun of Rhode Island health care.

Great bedside manners, kind, caring and will follow up without question on your condition. Great listener and goes above and beyond what is expected. I am 76 yrs old and was so happy that they still had doctors with such integrity. I feel so my more healthy and can live my life pain free since my surgeries.

A wonderful compassionate surgeon!! I had seen Dr Lucas 3 times before my surgery. He went an extra mile to call me 2 nights to see if I had any questions. If I had any concerns I could call him. I had a full fusion with the titanium rods snd screws. As I was recovering in the hospital he saw me daily. Even wanted me to stay in extra day.
