I would not recommend going to her if you are nervous about getting the surgery at all. If you are fine and looking for someone who keeps appointments quick and you are confident she is great. It took me a lot of phone calls to get concerns addressed, and even after the appointments themselves I often left feeling like I was on my own to know what to do, especially during the recovery process. Though I am happy with the result overall, it was a stressful process and I’m left wondering if some complications/issues from the surgery could have been mitigated if my hesitations and concerns were taken more seriously. I think she is good at what she does, but I also feel like I could have potentially gotten similar results with a different surgeon, and without that kind of stress. Also, I was initially told the surgery wouldn’t be covered under my insurance by the office, but after doing some digging it actually was. You will need to be your own advocate to make sure it is covered, especially if your insurance has a history of being a pain like mine does. Just FYI, saved thousands.
Following mastectomy in 2020 I was told Dr Sullivan was the best reconstructive surgeon in the area. After waiting months to get an appointment she agreed I was a good candidate for DIEP flap surgery but wanted me to have small umbilical hernia repaired prior to surgery. Four months later, after I had recovered from this surgery, and numerous phone calls to her office she calls to inform me she no longer does this type of surgery and would refer me to her colleague. Another 5 months go by before I can see this new doctor. They then inform me Lifespan is not allowing surgeries. I wasted a year trying to get this surgery scheduled, in and out of depression. Stay away from Lifespan! Doctors and staff are horrible.
Dr. Sullivan and her staff are kind, competent and knowledgeable. My surgery (breast reduction) went exceedingly well with minimal pain (did not need to take any medications after day one post op) and zero complications. She is a very talented surgeon and my outcome is better than I ever anticipated, very natural and proportionate. Highly recommend her.
I had a really great experience with Dr. Rachel Sullivan and her staff (excellent staff). From the first consultation appointment, day of surgery and post-op appointment she was always very professional, practical and kind. The surgery she performed was desperately needed to relieve back pain and low self esteem issues. I’m very happy with the results. She’s a Godsend to have in the Providence/Rhode Island area.
She is a great doctor. Very professional and knowledgeable. Listens to your concerns and gives very good advice.
Best plastic surgeon ever. Thank you again for another ?? percent procedure done. Anyone need any procedures done I would not hesitate to go to Dr. Rachael Sullivan. She will take great care of you. Than you again Dr. Sullivzn
I wouldn’t recommend her for any Breast Cancer Patients! I had a double mastectomy ,two weeks after my surgery I had to get my Fillers filled and I end up going septic and end up in the hospital for two weeks Or infection that spread it through my body. I end up having two more surgeries after that then for the reconstruction all she did was open me up and take the flaps out and put the implants in my breast look horrible now I have to get all the surgery’s all over agin by a new doctor! I put my life in her hands it’s bad enough I had to go through Breast cancer and I trust her with my life and something that I have to live with for the rest of my life that looks absolutely horrible! I am so heart broken
She was horrible! I was not there for a boob job but she entered the room (after quite await) saying take your shirt off. I was there for facial purposes. She never looked at me or my chart. Then when she finally figured out why I was there she did a procedure that was so painful I was pushing the assistant and crying for her to stop. After the procedure she put bacitracin on me, the only topical allergy I have is to BACITRACIN! I felt like all she cared about was making money and my procedure was not about beauty and therefore, it didn't matter. I would never, ever go to her again or ever recommend her.
She’s awesome Doctor!!
I cannot expresssss how satisfied I am with the services she has provided to me... The few reviews that are less than 5 are due to circumstances that are out of her control {Referrals-Authorizations-Appt times etc) Her work as a Dr is SUPERB...I would definitely recommend without hesitation..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
