After a consultation with the Tollgate Allergy & Asthma team at the Warwick location, I will not be going back. The front desk staff & the nurse were friendly. However, the Doctor's bedside manner was condescending, insensitive, and inaccurate. After 26 years of never having an issue, I had randomly started to experience severe hives when I was in the sun. I hypothesized it was due to a medication with a very long half life, but wasn't sure. I went to Dr. Settipane for his professional opinion. However, he told me there were neither any tests to prove my allergy to the sun nor were there any cures besides avoiding the sun entirely. (He went so far as to tell me I was lucky I did not need polarized car windows!). Not only was his delivery of the information insensitive and very hopeless, it was also inaccurate. After my appointment I googled more information - there are 3 different ways to test and even cure my (new) allergy to the sun. In addition, I also wanted to be tested for a generic allergy test to find out more about foods I am allergic to. He only wanted to test me for foods that I knew I was allergic too and suggested that the best way to find out the other foods was through trial and error! My hope was to avoid anaphylactic reactions in the future, not induce them to find out what other foods cause them! This appointment was a consultation to discuss what tests were needed and it took 2 hours (when it could have been 30 minutes). I hate to post negative reviews, but I would highly recommend elsewhere.

Dr. Robert J. Settipane, MD really helped me out when I was going mad with a bouncing vertigo I thought was caused by allergies. He was able to diagnose my non-allergic rhinitis as well as eustician tube dysfunction AND he went above and beyond to print me out explanations of the diagnoses and go over why this was likely effecting me. He prescribed me medication I could have gotten over the counter, but know for a fact the prescribed medication has easier to use dispensers. My next course of action would have included another specialist and a waste of money. Within one day of taking my medication I felt my symptoms lessen rapidly. I am so grateful for Dr. Settipane's help!!!

Dr Settipane’s bedside manner was horrendous. He was rude, condescending and dismissive. The way he spoke to the female employees in his office was the same as his bedside manner. It made for an extremely uncomfortable appointment. In the end he refused to test me for any allergies as he said it would be too expensive! When I pushed back, he dismissed my concerns.

I’ve been treating with Dr. Rob for over 20 years. He’s very knowledgeable, understanding and compassionate. He will take whatever amount of time he needs to address your concerns and questions. I originally started seeing him for seasonal allergies but was subsequently diagnosed with MCAS. He’s a gem and I wouldn’t think of ever switching physicians. I’m so happy I was recommended to him all those years ago

Would never recommend. Waited 45 minutes during covid time for him to enter my exam room. Once he came in, he did not make eye contact or give me any physical exam at all. In addition, he and his staff are refusing to provide a required prior authorization for a prescription shampoo. Terrible experience. Will not return.

This doctor has zero personality. No bedside manner. He’s incredibly condescending and made me feel both stupid and uncomfortable.

Went for an apt and the place had no heat on the coldest day of winter so far! spent over 3 hours there getting al allergy test done and he explained nothing, just wrote up a script for a med that I have no information about and he couldn't explain why anything as happening, nor did he or the staff listen to my concerns from allergy flare-ups. I went home after 3 HOURS of being in that freezing office and noticed I was having a delayed reaction to many of the areas they tested allergens. I called the office and they did not want to hear it. I called again and they gave me some other answer about how it doesn't matter if I have a reaction they aren't going to chart it and I should keep using cortisone cream which wasn't working for me at all. Ended up having to go to my primary care office and having someone check it out. I got more help there than I did at the "allergist" office. I will NOT be going back there, nor will I be recommending it to anyone.
