Amber Messitt's Online Review Report Card

I feel like Dr. Messitt saved my life. The quality of my life has improved while under her compassionate and thorough care. She puts my mind at ease and helps me problem-solve quickly. I’m ever so grateful to have her as my doctor.

My experiences with Dr Messitt and her office have not been great. I don't know if she just didn't like me or if she treats every female like a hysterical nutcase that needs to be medicated. Everything was great for a few years until I was diagnosed with a medical condition and that is when Dr Messitt decided that yes, all labs proved that I had that condition but that she could cure thyroid disease with antidepressants. After 4 different ones that made me very sick (BECAUSE I DID NOT NEED THEM) she basically just didn't want to treat me for anything at all unless I was willing to take antidepressants also because I "seemed depressed" (I WAS SICK). The last words she spoke to me the last time I left her office was when I told her my Acid Reflux was getting very severe and I was having stomach pain. Her exact words were: "Sorry, there's no lab test for Acid Reflux." I just stared at her in amazement and told her I would find a GI specialist myself, and she basically rolled her eyes at me. That specialist found an ulcer that I'm sure Dr Messitt would have tried to treat with Prozac if she could. She always rushed me,, constantly "uh huh, uh huh" while I'm talking, giving me the impression that she has no interest in my problems. I always got the impression she saw me as a drug seeker because I said I have insomnia, even though I never asked for any narcotics or sedatives. Apparently I'm a menace to society, trying to cop acid reducers and thyroid medication. Her office is a mess now. Nothing convenient about it at all unless you consider not being able to call them on the phone convenient. You just get a recording saying not to leave a message because they aren't monitored and if you need to see a doctor just walk in. So if you live a half an hour away and need to speak to the office staff, you have to drive to the office to talk about your bill or a referral.

I don't know if she just didn't like me, or if she thinks all women are hysterical & therefore not sick. I saw her for several years and all was fine until I began having thyroid problems. She told me she has documented lab evidence that proves I have thyroid disease, which explained all my symptoms and then spent the next three years trying to convince me she could cure all my thyroid symptoms with antidepressants that I didn't need and made me very sick. It got to the point where she was declining to treat me for anything else because I refused any more antidepressants after she had tried 4 different ones (THAT I DID NOT NEED). Her last words to me after I told her that my Acid Reflux was getting very severe and I was having a lot of stomach pain were: "Sorry, there's no lab test for Acid Reflux." I just stared at her in amazement and replied that I would refer myself to a GI specialist. That specialist found an ulcer, that Dr Messitt probably would have wanted to treat with Prozac.

The best doctor I’ve ever had. Always takes the time to answer all my questions, never rushes me yet gets me taken care of quickly. Very caring and attentive. So lucky to have her!

Dr. Messitt is the best doctor I have ever met. She's compassionate, thorough, responsive, she's right on top of everything. I absolutely love going to her.

Dr. Messitt will almost always get you in to see her for an unexpected sick visit as soon as you call. She even responds to her patient portal messages within an hour or two. She is very patient, thorough and answers all your questions no matter how many you have! I love that she remembers little things about you like "since you usually get bronchitis around this time each year" or "because you're susceptible to eat infections..." Small details really stand out. She is a calm presence as well as a very trustworthy and kind person.

Dr Messitt is great. She always makes me feel comfortable and explains the issues & treatment options.

Dr. Messitt is absolutely wonderful. She's on to of everything, always responds back quickly. I highly recommend her.

Dr Amber Messitt is one of the kindest, most patient doctors I have ever been to. She listens to all of my concerns and I never feel rushed. If only all doctors followed her behavior the world would be a better place.

Dr. Amber Messitt is absolutely wonderful. She always get back to me in a timely manner and I never feel rushed during any of my visits. The office staff is friendly and caring as well!! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care doctor.
