List of Hugo Yamada's Reviews
Dr. Yamada is the most arrogant provider I have dealt with. I have been taking my Dad there for years (trying to find another provider taking new patients is no easy task) and he keeps misdiagnosing simple conditions. If I ask too many questions, he turns is back on me and walks out of the office. In fact now, he does not let me come into the appointment room and tells his staff to tell me all these ridiculous excuses, while others walk in behind me with their elderly parents. I am sure he is violating many protocols. He should not be practicing. He is an embarrassment to Chartercare. From the list of reviews, appears I am not alone in my evaluation and I would think Chartercare values this feedback and would act upon it.
Don't go here if you want to live. 2 doctors and a NP. All 3 are pharmaceutical whores. Pfizer is their biggest payer. They favor money over people.
This is the worst office staff. Constantly billing for the wrong thing. don't bother calling. the pick up and say please hold. I called at 8:30 and was still holding with no one coming back to the phone after 1.5 hours. He is not that good of a doctor to wait like this.... RRUUUUUUNNN
First of all I would like to say I see maria ferrera she is the best love her so much. Will continue to see her till she leaves or retires. My husband see's Dr Yamada he is great with with my husband's diabetes but as anything else he is rude and argumentative. He always trys to change meds for no reason and always has a issue refilling medication. He is all for the money and not compassionate. No bed side manners what's so ever. And always have issues with the receptionists that work there. Never call backs or help with the reason you call.
If you want generic factory style visit go to this guy. The office looks like a dirty bathroom. His attitude is quite poor no solutions other than medicine
My wife and I have been a patients of Dr. Yamada for about 6 years now. Each time he is personable, and forthright. We are able to contact him with questions, which he answers in an appropriate time. I can not recommend him highly enough.
The best
My husband and I have seen Dr yamada and we feel that he cares for and respects his patients. He is knowlegeable and uses available technology.
i called the office requesting an emergency visit the only day i had available was friday, the receptionist said she couldnt squeeze me in because the office closes at 1:30 on fridays, i asked her if it was opened on saturdays and she said that Dr. yamada is in on saturdays and that i could see him at 11:45 on saturday (12/7/19) i arrive at the office at 11:20 and im told by the receptionist that there was no appointment made for me , she spoke to Dr. yamada and asked him if i could be seen... She came back and told me he said he would see me but "this wasnt a walk in clinic" I have been with this office for a very long time under Maria Ferriera (great nurse practitioner by the way!) Im escorted into the room, he walks in and tells me to sit up and get off my phone. I was only on my phone to show him the call history made to the office where i was on the phone with the receptionist for 4 full minutes. He told me there was no way i made an appointment to see him because the receptionists need to get prior authorization before booking people on saturdays. I showed him the call history again and i SHOWED him exactly where it shows i was on the phone with the office and this man continued to tell me that i never made a appointment and that once again this wasnt a walk in clinic... at this point i decided to grab my clothes and get dressed because i was NOT going to tolerate the disrespect. I told him that i am not crazy to wake up early in the morning and stroll into the office without an appointment. Honestly i never even knew the office was ever opened on saturdays if it wasnt his employees informing me . This doctor not once mentioned that MAYBE his staff accidentally forgot to book me in, all he kept doing was blaming me and basically making it seem like i was lying about this "invisible appointment" i had with him. Unfortunately after this incident I will be looking for a new office for a primary doctor because i refuseeeee to ever get treated like this ever again. I would like to thank Maria Ferriera for the long years Ive been with her but unfortunately I can no longer continue to be a member of this office.
Too arrogant and extremely difficult to deal with. He leaves in his own world and does not listen the reason for your visit. Not recommended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
