List of Susanne Patrick-Mackinnon's Reviews
Terrible, my life changed forever under her watch. She put me on a drug to which I had a severe reaction and was not monitored properly. It has been over a year and I am still traumatized and never heard a word of concern from her.
I had a fantastic visit with Dr. Patrick-MacKinnon. Office staff was friendly and efficient. Scheduling was quick and convenient. The doctor was intelligent, patient, and personable. She has a fantastic bedside manner and addressed all my questions and concerns in such a positive and knowledgable way. I feel very fortunate to have access to such a great local resource.
I’ve had Cluster Headaches for 30 years. I’ve been in and out of seeing many doctors over the years along with Migraine clinics. She is the only one that found a way to push my headaches into remission for several years so I could live headache free. If they pop up again, because they are cyclical, I go to see her again and I am back in remission. I don’t usually do reviews of anyone, but after living with these things and the intense pain for so many years, I can’t not thank her enough for the time, care, and knowledge to manage these things. I have been able to function more normal again because of what she has done for me, so I thank the good Lord for referring me to her, and her caring and professional knowledge.
Not behavioral specialist... has caused my daughter to become unable to hold bladder and start spitting due to bad medication because of increased behaviors caused by change in dynamics at group home... chemically restraining my child and did it all without my consent or knowledge. Bad doctor committing illlegal prescribing without guardian/ parent consent. Yelled at me over phone regarding behaviors which she is not credentialed to practice. Understand she is good with migraines and seizure disorder that’s it. Bad doctor in my opinion. Getting my child the hell away from her!!!
I’ve had her as my neurologist for 15 years. She’s the only one that has been able to put my cluster headaches back into remission and I’ve been living with those for 30 years so I’ve seen many doctors. Another reviewer mostly rated her staff so that is not a fair review for her as she’s a very good doctor, but I do agree with the difficulty of dealing with the staff she has now that has probably been handed to her from this Lifespan organization in Newport who seem disorganized and are unprofessional, and rude.
I was referred to dr. Mackinnon from another neurosis. Dr. Listened to me as i gave her my history. She did several tests in the office. Dr. Confirmed my history. Dr. Mackinnon is so busy that if you cancel an appointment the next appointment will be quite a while.
Remember the doctor always has power to diagnose and prescribe, and the patient is powerless and desperate to know the cause of her symptoms and pains. The power the doctor has is a power to serve her patients, not to just throw her "professional" opinions to her patients without listening to them about their symptoms. My wife went to see her, because she had pains on her shoulders, arms, and fingers as well as her chest pain, she diagnosed her with anxiety and wanted to prescribe pills for her!!! It is very disappointing and hurting.
Have followed her at three locations - because she is that good.
I used to be her patient when she was in Bristol. She's a wonderful and smart doctor.
She's been my neurologist for 19 years. And if weren't at the top of her field she wouldn't still be my neurologist!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
