List of Adcare Rhode Island's Reviews
My experience with AdCare was fantastic. The took very good care of me when I needed help. The facility was very clean and orderly and the staff was incredible. They really care about each person that comes to them for help. They are very kind and patient and there is no judgement. If you are looking for help AdCare is the way to go. Thank you for everything that you did.
Great counselors very supportive and motivating. Other clients didn’t follow rules which was distracting during groups. I think the counselors need to be a bit more stricter or take the disrupters out of the group setting
Drove 2 and a half hours to this place to have my wife admitted into there care. They gave us a minute to say goodbye and when I tried to ask some questions on the way out they just gave me a card and was told to call them back tomorrow. After I was half way home they called and said they wanted o send her to a local hospital for some further review before having her com back to the program. Some 3 hours later my wife calls me from the ER saying that they were not going to take her back and that I needed to pick her up at the ER. ER doctor was infuriated and say he was going to make a formal complaint against Adcare. Long story short is they sent my wife to the ER with all her belonging and suitcases. They never planned on taking her back and just used the ER as a way to get rid of her
The counselors and nurses at Adcare in North Kingstown are amazing compassionate down to earth extremely capable people who do a great job in spite of the shamefully mismanaged institution that employs them.
Overall the facility is good and they got a great program however they should have at least one doctor or nurse practitioner on duty 24 hours a day. The residential program gives you all the tools and coping skills you need to beat addiction whether it be alcohol or drugs. My only complaint is the doctor should be able to prescribe the medication you need without going through your primary care provider. I guess my other complaint is the med call procedure its not 100% efficient theyre implementing a new computer system. For example your primary care or the doctor on call gives you a script and it takes a day or two forever your script to get filled but the staff is working out the kinks. Overall the food is okay but theres room for improvement as well. For example mashed potatoes should not be coming from a box nor should scrambled eggs. Overall 5he councilors and staff are excellent they are kind compassionate and caring. They really do care about your recovery and if theres a client that disrupts the program they remove that individual quickly. I highly recommend this facility.
After drinking for 40 years I was scared to death to finally be doing something about it. The counselors and staff at AdCare were amazing and made me feel comfortable right away. Im coming up on 3 months sober which may not seem like a lot but after 40 years its been huge.
The staff was wonderfulThe only problem was a shortage of nurses. Sometimes had to wait up to 1 hour for meds because the nurse was covering 2 units.I have been sober 45 days and thanks to Adcare I have the knowledge and tools to stay soberI highly recommend Adcare
Very happy with 28 day program. Food was good 80% of the time. Counselor did work but I feel I didnt get a weekly report one on one got 2 one on one in 28days. I was told I was going get a bridge prescription for seriquel and colodine till I see pcp but counselor lied very mad. And they moved residential to the old detox with is really small and not a nice place to do residential. I hope they make a new residential building because they have the space. If you only detox I feel the program will not work. Do residential if you really want to quit ive been struggling with alchol for 6 years been sober 45days now and no craving and learned new skills if they come. Good luck addiction is hell

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
