List of MIchael L. Chang's Reviews
Excellent Primary Care Provider! The entire team is friendly and efficient. Dr Chang is very knowledgeable regarding all health guidelines based on the latest evidence. He's very open and collaborates with his patients to achieve optimum health outcomes. He's also cognizant of insurance coverage challenges and advises what tests or procedures might result in out of pocket costs. I highly recommend Dr Change to all my friends and family.
This doctor made me feel SUPER comfortable. He's such a kind, listener, & knowledgeable Dr. He immediately takes action to anything that concerns him & makes sure nothing is left out. If you're looking for someone who is actually concerned about your health, this is the right Dr here. Thank you once again Dr. Chang.
Dr. Chang was my PCP for about a year several years ago. I changed jobs, insurance and moved so I was unable to keep seeing him. However, I recently moved back and went back to my old insurance and did not hesitate to choose Dr. Chang as my primary again. So excited to get the comprehensive care that he provides. He is an excellent listener and very thorough in his assessments. I always got the sense that he actually cared; personable and relatable. He's very knowledgeable and makes sure he educates his patients on their condition/what they're experiencing. If you have the option to choose this doctor, look no further. He will take care of your health care needs without hesitating or making you feel bad about yourself (my experience with most MDs). I cannot recommend him enough.
Just moved back to the area and my family doctor has gone the concierge doctor route, where you have to pay a membership fee in order to get an appointment. Not for me. I went directly to Google, and asked for the best doctors in Laguna Niguel, and Michael Chang was the first to appear. I read the reviews, liked what I read, and called about scheduling an appointment. Someone must have canceled, there was an immediate opening within 30 minutes, and the next appointment was in over 2 weeks. I jumped at the opening, (had to reschedule a commitment, but they totally understood), and got there just in time. The Covid precautions were good. Patients must wait outside until told to come in. They made me remove my mask and gave me a disposable mask to put on before entering the building. The Dr. did not keep me waiting, but most importantly I never felt rushed. He let me explain, was patient, and I felt like I was the only patient (I wasn't). I was impressed at his knowledge, professionalism and ability to explain so I could understand. The only bad news was that I was told he wasn't taking new patients, and though I was able to get in to see Dr. Chang today, I will probably need to find another doctor for the future :/ (but I'm not above pleading...)!
Dr. Michael Chang is not only thorough but he listens and takes care of all my concerns. I never feel rushed at my appointments, and I feel confident that I'm being treated properly. I've never questioned my course of treatment. Since Dr. Chang is a DO, rather than an MD, he won't just throw pills at a problem. I highly recommend Dr. Chang for any illness or problem.
I will admit that I have never been one to keep up with my personal maintenance and I haven't been to a physician on a regular basis since I was in the Marine Corps which was 25 years ago. My new employer charges an extra $50.00 a month for my insurance if I don't get a yearly physical, but their spin is I get a $50.00 discount every month for seeing a physician once a year.Within the last year, Dr. Chang has moved to a new location ( bit.ly/31vpBEP ) which is near the corner of La Paz and Moulton Parkway in Laguna Hills. The space is nice for a doctor office and it is reasonably close to my home. The reception desk ( bit.ly/2J7YCbU ) is just inside the entrance and waiting area has a decent amount of seating. Once you name is called, the first step is getting your vitals ( bit.ly/2qw3CRv ) taken before you are walked to examination room. First time I had an appointment with Dr. Chang was three years ago and most of his criticism had to do with me looking like a human version of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I managed to put on a few more pounds before I became disgusted with myself and lost over 80 pounds in about 6 months. I went for a physical exam because I was having some digestive distress and I guess I was due for a visit because it had been several years between examinations. Dr. Chang did listen and conducted a thorough physical which included the thrilling prostate exam. The first time he did this exam I was like "Oh, my God!" He replied, "I am just putting on the glove." On my most recent visit during the exam I moaned another doctor's name. Don't do that!"Who is Dr. Jones?""You're the only one!"Some time in the future I will upgrade to the endoscopic examination which is more commonly known as a colonoscopy. For those not familiar with the procedure, you are put into a twilight sleep while a long, flexible tube with a tiny camera on the tip is inserted into your rectum. The camera is guided through your entire colon which basically makes you star of your own Discovery Channel special (I hope they get my good side). If Jacque Cousteau was still alive, I would definitely want him doing the narration:"Slowly, we are going up Rohlin's colon. Up ahead a steak he had in 1988." On my latest visit, I received a fist bump for the weight loss, but Dr. Chang did mention some sun damage on my head and reminded me my shiny head isn't a solar collector. We briefly discussed my diet (which is atrocious), but since I don't smoke, rarely have caffeine or alcohol and not really a fan of narcotics, I am allowing myself a vice. The lungs sound really good and my vitals are excellent for someone in my age group.Rohlinism: If you don't enjoy your vices, you should find some new ones! The only thing I messed up during this latest visit was forgetting to fast which meant I couldn't get my blood drawn ( bit.ly/32Id9CQ ) until the following Friday. The technician who took my blood did it right the first time and the whole procedure was over in less than five minutes. I don't have large veins, so it can be annoying at times because technicians from time to time miss my vein.I like Dr. Chang and his staff which is a good thing since I will be seeing them at least once a year for the foreseeable future!
The first Dr. who not only listened to my concerns, but didn't make me feel uncomfortable!Dr. Chang was so kind, helpful, informative and caring! I'm so thankful I found him! Thank you Dr. Chang for an excellent first visit!
My husband and I needed to find a primary care physician, and we are so grateful for Dr. Chang! He was so kind, a great listener, and did a thorough exam to ensure our health was at its best. If you need a family doctor, Dr. Chang is the one.
He's one of the best family physicians his level of understanding and listening is excellent. spends time with the patient. calls if there is any requests.
Dr. Chang is the best! And I love his staff, especially Ana. They are all very professional and very caring. I always leave there with a smile.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
